If you were hoping to scoop up an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 any time soon, it looks as though you’re going to be disappointed, as the new budget gaming GPU is reportedly being delayed. Although Nvidia hasn’t officially confirmed the existence of the RTX 5060 yet, there was a lot of buzz about it being released in March, but this rumored release window has reportedly been pushed back.
The news comes shortly after rumors about an RTX 5070 release window rumor, with the mid-range Nvidia GPU reportedly now being set to come out in March, rather than the February window announced by the company at CES. Previous RTX 5060 release window rumors had pointed to a March release for the new budget gaming GPU as well, but it looks as though it’s not expected until April now.
This particular rumor comes from TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who claims to be in touch with supply chain sources, and regularly makes predictions about the tech industry, particularly when it comes to VR. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Ming-Chi Kuo points to the major supply problems when it comes to new silicon at the moment, saying that “supply issues will likely push back mass production of the RTX 5070/5060 from the original Feb/Mar to Mar/Apr.”
Somewhat depressingly, given the current state of RTX 5090 stock right now, Ming-Chi Kuo also says that this “limited supply means these two cards will sell out instantly even if production stays on schedule.”
Of course, as with all stories based on rumors, leaks, and speculation, none of this has been officially confirmed by Nvidia, so take this with a grain of salt for the moment. In fact, Nvidia hasn’t even announced any release date at all for the RTX 5060 yet.
However, problems such as the current RTX 5080 stock issues do indeed point to supply issues for gaming GPUs right now, most likely because AI products are being prioritized when it comes to silicon manufacturing capacity.
