Wipe out the Nazis with a well-placed trap in Sniper Elite: Resistance.

But the name of the game is Sniper Elite, and sniping is by far one of the most effective ways to get rid of your Nazi problem. The biggest strength of a sniper rifle is the fact that it can take enemies out from outrageous ranges, and landing shots from extreme distances can be very difficult, but every bit as rewarding.

Mission Two

Dead Drop (>400 Meters)

A longshot location on Dead Drop requires either leaving some enemies alive from the beginning section of the mission, or spawning in one of the alternate spawn locations. You want to head to the northeast section of the map, to the walkway elevated just above the café.

From there, you’ll be able to gain a line of sight to one of the towers near the church, which is the south-most objective for this mission. On this tower will be a sniper; if you don’t see them right away, they’re patrolling and will show up after a minute or so.

Mission Three

Sonderzüge Sabotage (600 Meters)

A longshot spot in this mission is actually right near the default spawn. Climb up the small staircase onto the area where you look down onto a large patch of grass on the left and a building ahead, and back up the small staircase in front of the wrought iron gate.

From there, look to the building that’s a little lower and to the right of the larger objective building. There is a walkway above a trainyard, and on that walkway, a Nazi is going to be patrolling back and forth. This Nazi does not have a helmet, making it a bit easier to ensure you drop him in one well-placed shot.

Mission Four

Collision Course (<400 Meters)

An easy longshot spot on Collision Course is another one that’s extremely simple to get right off the bat, too. This is not a particularly large map, and one of the biggest gaps you’re going to find between you and an enemy is at the very beginning.

Here are the best weapons and items in Sniper Elite: Resistance.

Back up as far as you can on the ledge you spawn on, and aim at the wooden tower at the left edge of the dam, a bit further left than the crane that dominates that side of the landscape. There will be one Nazi pacing at the top of that tower, and they’re easy to get right from the get-go. You’ll also be far away enough from enemies that you’re unlikely to be heard, as well.

Mission Five

Devil’s Cauldron (>500 Meters)

One of the longer shots on Devil’s Cauldron requires a bit more effort to get into, as it puts you towards the middle of the map, with enemies in more or less every direction. Work your way up the right side of the map, stopping just south of the yellow circle for the main objective. There will be a small cliff leading west that you’ll need to climb.

From there, you’ll have a very long angle all the way out to the lighthouse in the water. You can see that lighthouse right when you spawn, but the shot from here is a little bit longer than the shot from there. The sniper on the lighthouse patrols around near the top, and you’ll need to plant the shot just below his helmet.

Unless you’ve eliminated every nearby enemy, doing this with a suppressor and/or Subsonic Rounds is recommended. Otherwise, you can time the shot with the rumble of the thunder to soundmask it.

3

Mission Six

Assault On Fort Rouge (>620 Meters)

Arguably the best longshot location on Mission Six hardly requires you to move, but it does require some real patience in lining your shot up perfectly. Right when you spawn, the rest of the map is more or less sprawled out in front of you.

The 8 Best Weapons In Sniper Elite: Resistance

Use these weapons to dome a Nazi in Sniper Elite: Resistance.

Deep out in front of you will be a massive fort full of Nazis. There are a lot of targets to pick from, but the shot you’re looking for is going to be a sniper just above one of the flags, behind a part of the structure that’s begun crumbling. This is one of the longest shots in the game, and you’re going to need to take your time to line this one up.

2

Mission Seven

Lock, Stock And Barrels (>400 Meters)

While the map for this mission is quite large, and in particular quite long, there are a lot of things that block lines of sight. Because of this, one of the better longshot locations is near the default spawn, looking at the building that houses the main objective.

This building is going to be crawling with Nazis, but the one we’re looking for patrols both inside and outside the second floor balcony, near the center of the building. They patrol left-to-right on the outside, so you’re going to need to be able to lead your target here. While there are some easier shots on this building, they’re going to be a slightly less impressive distance.

1

Mission Eight

End Of The Line (>600 Meters)

It’s fitting that one of the longest longshot opportunities on what is effectively the last mission is against an elite enemy sniper. From the spawn on Mission Eight, you’re going to have what is the rest of the End Of The Line laid out in front of you.

There are going to be a lot of extremely long-range options, including many snipers, a tank, and wandering soldiers. But the target we’re looking for is a sniper just inside the large concrete wall on the back section of the map. They’ll be to the left of the cylindrical concrete structures, and to the right of the crane extending above the tops of the towers on the fort.
