The Asian Champions League (ACL 2025), organized by Hero ESPORTS, has been announced and the details for Honor of Kings, one of the featured titles in the event, have been revealed. Fans will get to witness the top-tier esports teams in intense fights throughout the event.
HERO ESPORTS Asian Champions League (ACL 2025) will feature seven to ten titles. It is a part of the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 qualification series. The champion team will qualify for the Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason 2025.
ACL 2025 Honor of Kings: Schedule and Format
The event will take place in two phases: Qualifiers and the Knockout stage. The first phase will kick off on the 5th of May 2025. It will end on the 13th of May but matchdays are only on the 5th, 6th, and 13th of May. There will be three rounds in this stage, the first round will be played in a BO3 format.
The next two rounds, the 2nd and the 3rd, will be BO5 and BO7 respectively. Winners of these rounds will advance to the next stage.
The Knockout stage will start on the 14th of May and take place for three consecutive days, ending on the 16th. The Grand Finals of the event will commence on the 18th of May 2025. Qualifier winners from the previous stage will join 2nd-5th placed teams in KPL Spring 2025. The runner-up of the event will receive a match bye to the Grand Final. This stage will follow a BO7 format where matches are to be played in Single Elimination modes.
Participant teams
There will be a total of 12 contenders fighting for the crown of the champion and a big share of the prize pool. However, teams will follow a two-stage participation process as some of them will directly qualify for the Knockout Stage. And, the remaining teams will have to crawl through the Qualifier stage.
The participants will be drawn from the King Pro League Spring 2025. The 2nd-5th placed teams will join the Knockout stage while 8 teams will play in the qualifier. The teams are not selected yet.
Prize Pool
The event will feature a total prize pool of $2,000,000, of which Honor of Kings will share $200,000 with the teams. In addition to the prize pool, the champion team of this event will secure a direct spot in the Invitational Midseason 2025, which will take place in Saudi Arabia, sharing the stage with the EWC 2025.
The exact share of the amount for the contenders isn’t revealed yet so we will have to wait for the allocation. Once we get the information, we will update it here.
