Pokemon is Getting Two New Life-Size Plushes

Pokemon is adding two more life-size plush toys to its roster with Ekans and Serperior joining the line-up. However, avid Pokemon fans may experience some difficulty acquiring the two Pokemon plushes due to them being a limited regional release.

Pokemon has released myriads of plush toys over the years, but the life-size ones are rarer. Pokemon has put life-size plushes of pocket monsters like Psyduck, Porygon, and most recently, Gardevoir on sale, but it isn’t stopping there, with these two additions slated to join the roster.

Pokemon Reveals New Life-Size Plush

The Pokemon Company has officially revealed its newest life-sized plush, featuring an iconic member of the franchise’s original 151 Pokemon.

Two new life-size plushes in the form of Ekans and Serperior have been announced as part of Pokemon’s celebrations for Year of the Snake, which recently kicked off. Ekans measures in at 2 meters, or roughly 6 1/2 feet, with Serperior coming in at 3.3 meters, or nearly 11 feet, just as they’re shown to be in their Pokedex entries. An exciting feature included with these two plushes is the ability to pose them, allowing them to stretch their heads up from their coiled bodies. The two plushes will be sold at Pokemon Centers in China, but no announcements have been made for locations elsewhere in the world yet.

Pokemon Ekans and Serperior Plushes Could Be Pricey

So far, it’s not clear exactly how much these two plushes will cost, but fans may need to set aside a considerable amount of cash for them. For reference’s sake, all of the life-sized Pokemon plushes have been in the hundreds of dollars. Psyduck was $288 back in 2020, while Porygon is $390, and the life-size Gardevoir costs $325. A giant Slowpoke plush also made waves not too long ago with a listing price of $450, and a giant Spheal plush also went on sale for the same price. While there’s a bit less bulk to the two Snake Pokemon plushes, it’s likely that fans will be able to expect a comparable cost.

While there’s no information on these two plushes arriving at Pokemon Centers or other retailers worldwide, fans may not want to worry too much just yet. Some of the aforementioned plush toys, like the giant Spheal plush, started out as a region-limited release and ended up arriving elsewhere at a later date. With enough fan demand – and good sales – in China, there’s a strong likelihood that these two plushes will eventually be introduced in Japan and the west. For now, though, fans of the two will just have to be patient. Thankfully, there’s a large variety of smaller plush toys of just about every Pokemon that may help to tide mega-fans by while they wait.
