Looking for a challenge ahead of Elden Ring Nightreign? Well, there’s a new soulslike in town that’s ready to scratch that itch. Roguelite RPG Sancticide blends Dark Souls’ challenging combat with the post-apocalyptic world of Stalker 2 – and you can play it from today.
Soulslike RPG Sancticide follows sin collector Ezechiel as he traverses an unforgiving biblical post-apocalyptic world in the End Times, eradicating sin for the mysterious ‘Them at The Top.’ On his journey, Ezechiel will encounter Sinners and Debtors marked for divine judgment, as well as a whole slew of enemies, with developers Red Square Games and Sylen Studio likening combat to “a game of chess.”
Mixing classic arena-style dueling with third-party action, players need to adapt to each enemy’s capabilities, movement style, and weak points. In addition to sacred melee weapons and unholy ranged gear, you’ll wield ‘purple’ powers to manipulate objects, alter time, and even improve your survivability.

The trailer, which you can see above, is pretty badass, and is giving me serious Constantine meets Dark Souls vibes.
If that sounds right up your street, you’re in luck. Sancticide releases in early access on Wednesday, February 12 at 9am PST / 12pm ET / 5pm GMT / 6pm CEST. This gives you the opportunity to sink your teeth into this biblical RPG ahead of its main release date, which is currently TBC. Sancticide will certainly make the wait for the Elden Ring Nightreign release date much less painful (or maybe more, I don’t know how good you are at soulslikes).
