Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has already sold nearly 2 million copies despite being out for less than a month. The two Kingdom Come: Deliverance titles are the only games developer Warhorse Studios has put out yet, but that relative lack of experience hasn’t stopped it from blowing past expectations. The latest earnings report from parent company Embracer Group reveals that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has had a monumental release.
It was already evident that Warhorse’s second effort was off to a strong start. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 sold over one million copies on launch day, quickly propelling it ahead of the first in terms of both sales and reviews. Now that more earnings figures are in, it seems that initial success was more than just a flash in the pan.

In its Q3 FY 2025 earnings report, Embracer Group said Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was fast approaching 2 million copies sold after getting halfway there in its first 24 hours. While Xbox and PlayStation sales certainly helped drive those numbers up, Embracer cited Steam as a particularly strong part of the game’s success. It’s easy to see why, as Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 set six concurrent player records in six days, peaking at over 250,000 simultaneous players on February 9. While the string of record-setting has cooled since then, Embrace still expects impressive performance in the future, thanks to “a robust roadmap” of new content and updates for the game over the next year.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Sells Nearly 2 Million Copies Despite Recent Turmoil
This landmark launch comes after a period of uncertainty and disruption for Embracer Group and its subsidiaries. In 2024, Embracer split into three different companies to restructure its resources and manage costs. Before the corporate reorganization, the company had issued layoffs and sold studios it had only recently acquired. However, it seems Embracer was able to recover from those lows thanks to the success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and, looking forward, high expectations for Killing Floor 3.
Embracer ended its report on its gaming sales by saying Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 showcases the need for time and investment in high-quality games. At a time when cost-cutting efforts are rising and even successful titles like Baldur’s Gate 3 struggle with crunch, Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors emphasized that the latest Kingdom Come title should be a reminder that teams need enough time and resources to turn their visions into reality. It remains to be seen how the company will implement this philosophy, but Embracer expects big things in the next quarter and beyond regardless.
