After years of anticipation, Ultimate Team has finally brought Diego Maradona back into the game. His absence was primarily due to legal disputes, but it seems EA Sports has successfully navigated those challenges.
According to FUT Sheriff, a 96-rated special Grassroots Icon card is expected to be released soon.
In Ultimate Team’s News section, an image featuring Maradona appears in front of what seems to be an Icon card. While no official confirmation has been given regarding the exact player cards set for release, several leaks have already surfaced online, giving players strong hints about what to expect.
Additionally, leaks suggest that a 77-rated Evolution player card will also be making its way into the game in the near future.
This allows players to evolve Diego Maradona’s player card, similar to Zinedine Zidane’s Evolution card, which upgraded from 90 to 94. The Evolution card will be given to players for free— all they need to do is log into the game at the time of the promo’s release.
Leaks suggest that the Evolution card could be upgraded into three different variants of Maradona, each featuring a unique position. Additionally, a base Icon Diego Maradona card is expected to arrive on the Ultimate Team servers on February 14.
