Whenever you talk to an NPC in Avowed to start a main or side quest, you usually have a marker leading you to the quest location. You might have to search the area a bit, but the game helps you complete it for the most part. However, there’s one type of quest where you won’t get this help.

These quests require you to find specific totem fragments scattered in each main area. For Dawnshore, the totem quest is called Totem of Rightful Rulership, and you have to find a total of seven pieces of the Scales of the Oathbringer in it.
Where To Find Clues About The Fragments
The Totem of Rightful Rulership quests starts whenever you locate one of the seven fragments around the world. Once this quest starts, the only thing you’ll have for its description is an optional task to find a clue about the location of the other fragments. However, there won’t be a marker guiding you to this clue.
To get it, you simply have to enter Paradis city and head all the way up north so that you can reach Northern Paradis. You’ll find Sanza’s Emporium here, and when you browse Sanza’s stock, you’ll find the document that provides riddles for each one of these. You’ll have to buy it for 500 currency.
Sanza might not be available for you here until you take the Mapping The Living Lands side quest from him in the western part of Dawnshore.
If you don’t want to waste that amount of money on the riddles, you can always save before buying the document, screenshot the information, and then load your save. While this method might be cheeky, it saves you some sought-after currency in the Living Lands.
Once you’ve found all the fragments, you can simply assemble them on the pedestal in any party camp.
Totem Core Location
The main item where you’ll put all the fragments can be found in the northeastern region of Dawnshore in an area called Shrine to Woedica. The riddle for this item states that it exists in the ruins of the beings hated by the Burned Queen, which essentially refers to the Godless beings.
These ruins belonged to the Godless people but were then converted into a shrine. You can easily find the item sitting by the shrine once you get here.
Broken Crown Jewel Location
This is likely the easiest fragment to find as its riddle states that it can be found in an emporium, and there’s only one emporium in Dawnshore found in Northern Paradis. When you enter Sanza’s Emporium, you’ll see a door to the left of where he’s standing.
Enter the door and you’ll see the jewel sitting on his study chair. You don’t have to worry about making a save as Sanza won’t have a problem with you taking it.
Golden Scale Of Order Location
You’ll have to make quite a journey for this totem fragment as it lies in the Pargrun Cache in the central north area of Dawnshore. You can enter the buildings here from the northern side by blowing up a few explosive barrels. Once you’re in, you’ll see a set of wooden platforms and other parkour leading you deeper in.
At one point, you’ll also have to dodge a few sword traps to get past. After that, you’ll reach a dead end with a building to your left that has its entrance blocked by tree branches. Look through the branches and you’ll see some explosive barrels in the left side of the room with a destructible wall. Break these barrels and go around to enter through this wall.
Finally, go up a few more wooden platforms in this room and finally a couple of jumps on the stone structures outside to reach this fragment.
Golden Scale Of Justice Location
Likely the hardest fragment to find in Dawnshore, the Golden Scale of Justice can be located in a hidden room in the Paradis city. To get to it, teleport to the Administration District Beacon in the city and go north until you reach the Northern Paradis door. From this door, jump to the green area on your right.
Keep going forward and scale past the edge to reach a balcony with an artist’s canvas on it. Enter the room behind it and you’ll see some ladders leading down on the left. Here, you’ll have to defeat some Phantom enemies and then you can claim the fragment in the room.
Golden Plaque Of Oaths Location
For this fragment, you’ll have to get to the Usher’s Hand area to the east of Paradis. When you look at this area’s map, you’ll see a couple of small ponds on its northern edge. This is where you’ll find the Golden Plaque of Oaths.
Simply jump inside the bigger southern pond and dive deeper in to find a small pathway. This will take you out on the other side of the pond where you’ll find this fragment sitting on the same cloth as the ones before.
Golden Plaque Of Promises Location
The very first totem fragment that you’ll likely find is on the Lighthouse to the southwest of Dawnshore, and you can easily see this building to your left while entering Claviger’s Landing. Once you get to the Lighthouse, you’ll see a set of ladders leading to some wooden structures beside the walls.
After you climb the stairs, keep parkouring up these small wooden platforms. At one point, you’ll have to walk back to a higher platform and then jump up to the next one. Moreover, when you’re about to reach the fragment, you’ll have to make a jump on the left side of the structure. Eventually, you’ll reach a gap in the Lighthouse wall with this fragment inside.
Golden Flames Location
For this fragment, you have to reach Castol’s Folly island which can be found to the southeast of Paradis. However, this island is filled with fine-tier mobs so you’ll have to level up your weapons before coming here. It’s also recommended to take the Precious Light quest in Paradis as that will also lead you here.
As you’re going through this island, you’ll reach a point where you’ll see a giant ditch in the ground with purple color all around it. When you get past this, you’ll have a difficult battle against a bunch of humanlike enemies. From the location of this battle, you’ll see a path leading to the left where you’ll have to jump through.
After the jump, you can find the fragment sitting on the cliff on a white-colored cloth.
