Dave the Diver has announced that Ichiban’s Holiday DLC, featuring crossover content inspired by Sega’s Like a Dragon franchise, is set to arrive in April 2025 across all platforms. The newly announced post-launch content adds to Dave the Diver developer Mintrocket’s growing list of collaborations with other IPs.
Back in 2023, Dave the Diver rolled out for the first time on PC and quickly became one of the most popular indie titles of the year. Since then, the widely acclaimed game has been ported to PlayStation consoles and the Switch, eventually selling over five million units as of November 2024. During this time, its content has also been refreshed quite a few times with crossover items based on popular franchises, ranging from the major movie IP Godzilla to the resounding indie success Dredge. In an effort to continue this streak, Dave the Diver is now being lined up to collaborate with Like a Dragon as part of the Ichiban’s Holiday DLC coming soon in 2025.

During the PlayStation State of Play livestream, Dave the Diver revealed that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth‘s Ichiban Kasuga will venture into the Blue Hole in a forthcoming paid DLC. The expansion follows the adventures of Ichiban and Dave as they take on a syndicate of dolphin poachers and the Sea Blue gang. As shown in the new trailer, Ichiban’s Holiday brings some beat-em-up gameplay to Mintrocket’s title in which the Like a Dragon protagonist and Dave the Diver‘s Cobra will team up together. Moreover, the new content includes mini-games that are a cross between those available in the two IPs. Players can also recruit characters from Sega’s long-running franchise to lend a helping hand at Dave’s seafood restaurant.
Dave the Diver Director Talks About Ichiban’s Holiday DLC
On the PlayStation blog, Dave the Diver Director Jaeho Hwang labeled the Like a Dragon franchise as one of his “greatest gaming inspirations” and credited a “fateful meeting” with Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio lead, Masayoshi Yokoyama, for the forthcoming DLC’s existence. Further, he said that the crossover DLC brings together “the best elements of both games” for the two sets of fans.
Excitingly, Ichiban’s Holiday isn’t the only Dave the Diver DLC slated for release this year. At The Game Awards 2024, Mintrocket shared the first glimpse of the In the Jungle expansion coming to the adventure game near the end of 2025. On the other hand, there are rumors circulating about Like a Dragon crossover content coming to another popular game, Fortnite, in the near future.
