If there’s one thing Capcom has excelled at, beyond its latest efforts with Resident Evil and Monster Hunter, it’s a commitment to its classic titles. In recent years, the company has bundled its classic Mega Man titles in various packages, as well as the Ace Attorney line of video games.
That’s not to make mention of its work in bringing forward its catalog of classic fighting game titles. Already, Capcom has released the Capcom Fighting Collection, the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection and will soon release Capcom Fighting Collection 2 in May.

It doesn’t look like things will be stopping there, either. In fact, it looks like the company is just getting started.
More Collections Are On The Way
As first spotted by Video Games Chronicle, in an interview with Inside Games, Capcom producer Shuhei Matsumoto shared intentions of giving fans more ways to experience classic fighting game titles.
“Capcom has a huge number of fighting games, and there are still a number of titles that cannot be played on current consoles,” he said. “We want to listen to the voices of our fans and provide an environment where as many of these games as possible can be played.”
What Could Be Next?
With Capcom’s intentions clear, it’ll be interesting to see what games get the port treatment next. The Street Fighter EX line of games feels like safe bets, and if licensing issues could be resolved, then Capcom vs. Tatsunoko could also be part of a future collection.
Oddly enough, Street Fighter x Tekken could be another game that could be part of a collection, seeing as it’s stranded on the PS3. And as one Reddit user pointed out, Tech Romancer would be an interesting pick. That same user also pointed to two fighting games based on Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure that Capcom produced.
In other words, there are still quite a few games out there that Capcom could pull from. Ultimately, only time will tell what the next collection looks like, but, at the very least, fans can rest assured, knowing there will be more on the way.
