With Vessel of Hatred releasing back in 2024 and no expansion now planned for 2024, it appears that Blizzard is already set to renege on the plans it revealed around Diablo 4‘s launch period.
Diablo 4’s Second Expansion Won’t Arrive Until 2026
No further information was given about Diablo 4‘s second expansion beyond the release year. While it’s sad that 2025 won’t see a new expansion for the game, it’s not all negative. In an industry where developers are frequently lambasted for releasing half-baked products, it’s good to see that Blizzard has no intention of doing the same in this instance. Largely, gamers would rather have a great expansion later than a broken one earlier.
In the meantime, there will be plenty of seasonal content for Diablo 4 fans to enjoy. Right now, Diablo 4 Season 7 is in full swing, after its launch almost a month ago. Titled the Season of Witchcraft, Season 7 brought tons of new Occult Gems, powers, and rewards to the game, with constant tweaks to the balance to ensure a fun experience for all. The game is in a much better place than it was at launch, with a great base set up for Diablo 4 to remain relevant for years to come.
