The island of Laugh Tale holds a massive amount of importance to the overall story of One Piece. Still, it seems interesting that, while the World Government has erased and destroyed many people and islands that stand in their way, they haven’t destroyed the most important island in the eyes of their enemy, Joy Boy. With so many secrets on the island, it seems like it would make more sense just to destroy Laugh Tale, and with it, the last chance of discovering the true mystery behind One Piece’s Void Century and Joy Boy. Perhaps something like long-lasting Haki left by Joy Boy shields the island, preventing those looking to harm the idea of freedom from even finding it in the first place.

By the end of One Piece, however, it seems possible that a pirate in the story could potentially allow Imu access to the island, starting what could be an epic final battle.
