Blacksmithing is great way to either make money or get your own gear without spending much in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The act of smithing in this game is an incredibly immersive one, and if you need to take a break from questing and fighting, this might be a good way to take some of the edge off.
However, before players can craft equipment in KCD2, they’ll first need crafting schematics, or Sketches, as they’re referred to in-game. A sketch is basically a blueprint for a piece of equipment, and as useful as they are, they’re fairly hard to find.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Best Blacksmithing Perks, Ranked
If players are wanting to further their Blacksmithing skills in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, they need to prioritize these great Craftsmanship perks.
Where to Get Weapon Sketches in KCD2
The most obvious place to look for a weapon sketch is a blacksmith or weaponsmith’s shop. The earliest smithy you can visit is in Tachov, and it just so happens that Radovan, the blacksmith who owns the place, plays a key role in the Wedding Crashers quest in KCD2. You can learn how to smith weapons from Radovan himself, and he’ll send you on a quest to make a sword for the young lord of Semine as a wedding gift.
Blacksmith Radovan has a number of weapon sketches for sale, and you’ll be able to purchase them even if you don’t do his quest for Wedding Crashers. If you want more sketches, visit Blacksmith Osina in Trosky Castle once you finish the For Whom The Bell Tolls quest. The blacksmith in Nebakov also has some sketches for sale.
Other Possible Weapon Sketch Locations
Weapon sketches are physical items that Henry can add to his Crafting book. As such, they can be found in loot containers or as actual objects in the world. Some might also be handed out as quest rewards, or simply given away by notable NPCs. Here are a few places you can check for weapon sketches.
Brunswick’s Poleaxe
If you preordered Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you can get the sketch for Brunswick’s Poleaxe from Scribe Gaibl in Troskowitz. Go to the town hall, speak with the scribe, and ask him about the legend of Sir Brunswick. He’ll give you the weapon sketch after hearing him out. Alternatively, if you already collected the Brunswick set from the Lion’s Crest DLC, you can ask Gaibl about the armor and still receive the poleaxe sketch.
Falchion
There is a chest in the barn next to the horse trader in Semine has a number of useful items, including Frankfurt Steel and possibly, a weapon sketch. Chest loot in KCD2 seems to be random, and it’s hard to guarantee that all players will get the same things from the same sources. Still, this one is worth checking out. The chest itself is locked, but the keys for it should be hanging on a wooden pole on the first floor at night.
Basilard
Directly east of Trosky Castle is a cave in Apollonia that contains a bunch of valuable goods. Ride from the castle until you see the cave entrance. Enter the cave, and explore to the left. There’s a sack wedged into one of the rock walls there. Open it to find a number of lore books for raising your Scholarship XP and the sketch for the Basilard.
