Marvel Rivals: How To Counter Captain America
Captain America can hit fast and hard, but you can easily counter him in Marvel Rivals.
Due to his close proximity to other teammates, it can be hard to knock Adam Warlock down, but get him alone, and he’s beaten. A number of heroes are great for splitting up the enemy team and bruising the Warlock.
How To Counter Adam Warlock
The issue with Adam Warlock is he needs to be close by to his team mates to offer any real support. For such a Perfect Being, much of his kit relies on the abilities of others to be effective. This makes him a prime candidate to separate from the pack and take out quickly. His offensive neutral attack (Quantum Magic) and Cosmic Cluster don’t do much damage in the long run, either.
Any hero who’s a little tanky can give this Perfect Being the perfect smack down. Just be wary of Adam Warlock when he’s around downed teammates. He can bring them back to life with Karmic Revival.
How To Counter Adam Warlock As A Vanguard
Vanguards are made to take the hits and dish them out even harder. This means characters like Thor and the Hulk are prime choices for leading the team into battle. Adam Warlock will most likely be hiding behind other heroes, and your team will need someone to thin the herd and pave the way to attack.
Thor is especially good at rushing the enemy with his Storm Surge ability. Using his iconic move from the movies, Thor spins his hammer Mjolnir around to gain momentum and fly in the direction of his enemies. This gives him a chance to knock back enemies protecting Adam Warlock and give you a chance to finish the job.
The Hulk does what he does best in Marvel Rivals: smash. Every attack in his kit is designed to deal a lot of damage, whether using his neutral attack (Heavy Blow) or becoming unstoppable with Indestructible Guard. The latter will turn Hulk into a living tank, able to break through enemy strongholds and take out Adam Warlock all in one go.
When playing as the Hulk, you can became a true beast and charge up the Hulk’s ultimate attack to become Monster Hulk, buffing all of his abilities and damage output.
If your team needs a better vantage point for getting the jump on Adam Warlock, that’s exactly what Doctor Strange is for. This mystic fighter can open a portal anywhere in the arena and use it to give his teammates a better place to initiate an attack on your enemies.
Open a portal nearby and drop it above or behind Adam Warlock to get the jump on him before his teammates know what happened. Doctor Strange can also offer plenty of protection for teammates using long range attacks with his Shield of the Seraphim, able to take a lot of damage before breaking..
How To Counter Adam As A Strategist
To help your team take other enemy characters offer the map, using snares to lock them down and leave them open for an attack is a great strategy to use in any game. Luna Snow has a quick snare in her kit with her Absolute Zero ability that freezes a target for three seconds.
Use this to freeze Adam Warlock in place and keep him from using his attacks or healing allies. The one downside is if anyone attacks the new ice sculpture, the effect will wear off. However, this gives everyone a nice chance to plan their next attack.
Mantis is also known for immobilizing enemies and making them useless on the map. When playing as Mantis, you need to get up close to cause panic, but her Spore Slumber attack can project an illusion that entraps the enemy. You can use this skill to put Adam Warlock to sleep for 3.5 seconds.
Better yet, your teammates can start attacking instantly to make the best use of that time. Mantis is also a large healer, with a kit outfitted with multiple abilities to heal your teammates and yourself.
How To Counter Adam Warlock As A Duelist
Be prepared to bring on the pain when fighting as a Duelist. If your teammates can open a path to separate Adam Warlock from the rest of his party, then the fight is already done, especially if you’re playing as Iron Fist.
A master of the martial arts and able to deal a lot of damage quickly, you can launch a flurry of empowered attacks when using Dragon’s Defense. If you can corner Adam Warlock and separate him from his team, all it takes is a couple of punches to take him down.
For faster combat, you can buff Iron Fist’s kit even more with Living Chi and launch an even more powerful version of Dragon’s Defense to boost Iron Fist’s speed, damage, and attack range.
Another Duelist that makes for a great addition is Spider-Man. Able to swing through the arena, he can cover the distance between himself and Adam Warlock without needing someone to clear the way. Beat him up with a combo of multiple strikes to deal significant damage and finish it off with Amazing Combo to launch a devastating uppercut.
If looking to hit Adam Warlock from another angle, Squirrel Girl and her bouncing exploding acorns can cause a little mayhem. Able to double the damage by shooting these at and around Warlock’s teammates, Squirrel Girl is also great for trapping her targets with Squirrel Blockade.
You can use this to hold down an enemy protecting Adam Warlock and give your team a chance to attack. Or just deal the finishing blow with the Unbeatable Squirrel Tsunami.
