Summary

  • Scott Foley joins Scream 7 cast as Roman Bridger & confirms a small role.
  • Roman Bridger’s role in Scream 7 might be a flashback or hallucination.
  • Scream 7 promises the return of familiar faces & suspenseful twists.

Earlier this month Scott Foley was officially added to the ever-growing case of Scream 7, the latest installment in the iconic horror franchise. While details surrounding his character remain shrouded in secrecy, it was also confirmed that man who was a key player in Scream 3 is coming back to play the same role, as Roman Bridger. Now the actor has confirmed at least one detail about Roman and shed a little light on what he’ll be doing once he appears in the new film.

The Scream franchise, known for its self-aware humor and meta commentary on the slasher genre, has consistently captivated audiences with its blend of suspense, scares, and clever twists. Scream 7 promises the return of Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott after she didn’t appear in Scream 6. The audience is also poised to be introduced to her husband, played by Joel McHale. This seventh entry into the move also looks like it is going to have several of the villains from throughout the series making. a return in one capacity or another. Foley recently made it clear that while a Roman Bridger who was killed in Scream 3 is coming back, he won’t have a major role in the film.

Roman Bridger Will Have Small Role In Scream 7

While some fans have been confused about just how Roman would fit into the plot, Foley recently paid a visit to LIVE with Kelly and Mark and explained that he talked to Scream 7 director Kevin Williamson about just how he will fit into the larger plot.

“I had just had a conversation with Kevin Williamson who’s directing — wrote the first few Screams, is directing this one. And he wanted me to come back and play a small part. And I was so excited to sort of revisit this character even though he died in the first one.”

Foley seems to be talking about dying in his first appearance in the Scream franchise, since he played Roman in the third entry in the franchise. It’s also an interesting turn of phrase that Foleys aid he was going to “sort of” revisit the character. It’s possible that was just a turn of phrase he used, or it could be that Roman isn’t coming back so much as he’s going to be a flashback or even hallucination of one of the characters.

Matthew Lillard has also confirmed that he’ll appear in Scream 7 even though his character, Stu Macher was absolutely killed “in the first one” as he was one of the original Ghostfaces alongside high school best friend Billy Loomis. It’s possible that both Stu and Roman will come back the same way that Loomis was brought back in Scream 5, as a piece of psychosis that Melissa Barrera’s character Sam was suffering from after she found out that she was the love child of the serial killer. The idea that Foley has a small role would seem to indicate popping up once or twice, rather than being anywhere near central to the plot of Scream 7.
