Red Dead Redemption 2 is a massive game, and it seems that discoveries are always on the horizon. Yet, despite the massive scale of Red Dead Redemption 2, there are still some things that remain on the cutting room floor, and the most interesting cut content found deserves to be seen by all who have a love for this great game.

Red Dead Redemption 2: 8 Things That Prove Arthur Morgan is a Good Man
Arthur Morgan has plenty of opportunities to prove that he has high honor in Red Dead Redemption 2, with these decisions showcasing he’s a good man.
The best cut content in Red Dead Redemption 2 ranges from unique missions, strange character models, entire sections of the map removed, and creatures for the compendium were forever unseen. Red Dead Redemption 2’s cut content is vast, so look below to find a few interesting pieces.

Take a Trip to Mexico
Assets Show Plans for Sections of Mexico
If players manage to break out of New Austin, they can access areas of Mexico that would otherwise be inaccessible, but oddly enough, some textures and placements remain as they would be in the original Red Dead Redemption. While hardly anything remains of Mexico in Red Dead Redemption 2, there are cut text lines that indicate that Nuevo Paraiso was supposed to be explorable, as well as cut and low-poly textures relating to Mexican structures.
It’s no surprise that Mexico was cut if it was ever a thing since development ended so early on. Luckily there are a few talented modders who have been working hard to bring elements of Mexico and Nuevo Paraiso back into Red Dead Redemption 2

Finding Princess Isabeau Katharina Zinsmeister
The Missing Princess Has a Character Model and a Mission
For those who have ventured to Van Horn, they can find a missing person poster on the wall outside of the saloon that details a $100 reward for finding Princess Isabeau Katharina Zinsmeister, who was taken 15 years ago, and is noted for the birthmarks on her right hand and left cheek. Despite a global hunt for this character, she’s not actually in the game, but her adult character model does indeed exist.
Not only does an adult version of Princess Isabeau exist, but there are also cut animations that relate to her being handed into the sheriff of Annesburg, and locking her up in a cell. Could these be generic animations, or was Princess Isabeau Katharina Zinsmeister now a criminal after 15 years in America?

Uniquely Unused Animals & Fish
Monkeys, Bobcats, and Sharks All Feature as Unused Content
While players can find the stuffed statue of a gorilla in West Elizabeth, they were supposed to actually find real and living monkeys in the Guarma chapter. While there isn’t a known character model for monkeys, there is indeed audio files that exist for certain death sounds of chimps and monkeys, which could have been funny for Arthur to study and hunt primates.

Some mods for Red Dead Redemption 2 are a must-have for the PC experience, and here are all the mods players will need.
Monkeys aren’t the only weird creatures to exist in the cut content, as there are also cut models for sharks, which would have also been in the Guarma chapter. These sharks have actual models, compendium entries, and two variants, but they remained unused in the final game.
5
The Iconic Blunderbuss
An Unfinished Model Exists For an Intense Weapon
While it’s only a small piece of cut content, it is cool to know that the Blunderbuss was once planned for Red Dead Redemption 2. While the game already features a plethora of weapons, the Blunderbuss was perhaps one of the most fun from the original Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, where John Marston could make great use of it by exploding zombies into a red mist.
While the Blunderbuss only had an ammo capacity of one singular bullet, enemies could easily explode from a shot, and the wide nozzle made it so that multiple foes could fall at once. The gun is referenced in Red Dead Redemption 2, and there’s even an unfinished model, but it’s unusable, perhaps because it would have been too silly for such a serious game.
4
The River Monster Mission
Arthur May Have Battled the Loch Ness Monster
One side-mission that was cut from Red Dead Redemption 2 involved the game-described “River Monster”, in which audio files for this creature remain in the game. Thanks to cut dialogue, players know that the River Monster was supposed to be in Flat Iron Lake, and was perhaps responsible for the disappearance of Jeremy Gill in his stranger side-mission: A Fisher of Fish.
While not much else is known about the river monster, it’s been long since speculated that the character model was re-purposed for GTA Online’s Cayo Perico Heist, where players can see the Loch Ness Monster out in the distance during an escape.

Arthur Can Visit New Austin
Cut Dialogue and Journal Entries Shows Arthur Could Have Gone West
If players try to go West in Red Dead Redemption 2 as Arthur Morgan, they will be hunted by Pinkertons and immediately killed by an invisible sniper that protects the entirety of New Austin. No matter how hard Arthur tries, he’s not going West, and New Austin isn’t going to be explorable for him without him dying on repeat.

Red Dead Redemption 2: Every Van der Linde Gang Member and What Happens to Them
Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn’t work out well for the Van der Linde gang’s plans, but what exactly happens to each of the gang’s members?
Yet, there are voice lines for Arthur visiting the cholera-infested town of Armadillo, as well as some journal entries and drawings related to the points of interest found in New Austin. Could the voice lines be a backup in case players made it to New Austin by evading the invisible sniper, or were there plans for Arthur to venture to Blackwater and other locations?

Eliza and Isaac
The Mother of Arthur’s Son Had a Larger Role to Play
Arthur Morgan had a son, but in-game he explains that his son and the boy’s mother were killed in a robbery for $10. However, this line must be a late addition, because in the files, there are audio logs, mission briefings, and even character models relating to the mother of Arthur’s son, Eliza, and even baby wraps for Isaac, the child.
Eliza was supposed to be part of the Van der Linde gang and even has a few of her own missions, including one in the Epilogue section of the game. Why this was cut is anyone’s guess, but perhaps the idea of her and Arthur grieving Isaac after he freezes to death in the Colter Chapter was far too morbid to start the game with.

Strange Character Models
Many PEDs Are Disturbing – From Deformed Hillbillies to Neanderthals
Thanks to the PC release of Red Dead Redemption 2 and access to some in-game files from the Rampage Trainer, players can swap out their character models or spawn in unique ones to find some very interesting sights that were cut from the original release, including a living Neanderthal.
The Neanderthal isn’t the only interesting character model, as there is also a hillbilly with one arm bigger than the other, along with a character model for the giant found in Ambarino who makes Bertrum look like a dwarf. There are countless character models that aren’t seen in-game but are so unique to look at, which begs the question of why they were removed in the first place if they are all ready and done.
