Game Freak, the main developer behind the Pokemon franchise, has announced that Pandoland will launch worldwide in April 2025. The mobile game has been available in Japan since 2024 but is only now preparing to make its way to the rest of the world. Game Freak will reward players who pre-register for Pandoland on either the App Store or Google Play Store with resources that allow them to perform 100 gacha pulls as soon as the game launches.
Game Freak is the development studio responsible for creating every core Pokemon title, from the very first release to the upcoming Pokemon Legends: Z-A. However, occasionally, the studio forays into new territory, developing games beyond its standard fare. In 2017, Game Freak released Giga Wrecker, a PC puzzle game that later received a console port titled Giga Wrecker Alt. In 2019, the studio developed and published Little Town Hero, a turn-based RPG with a soundtrack composed by Undertale’s Toby Fox. Little Town Hero launched on Switch and later arrived on PS4 and Xbox One in 2020.

Game Freak’s New Game Pandoland Arrives Worldwide in April 2025
In this creature-collecting mobile game, players take on the role of an explorer, venturing into the uncharted lands of Pandoland. Whether playing solo or in online multiplayer mode, gamers will be able to collect over 500 companions, filling up their index to power up their team and take on countless bosses in action-based gameplay. Since Pandoland is a free-to-play mobile game, it includes a gacha system, which might not be the most welcoming feature for some players.
While Pandoland awaits its worldwide release, Game Freak is still going full throttle on Pokemon Legends: Z-A. The game was announced in February 2024 and hasn’t received many updates since. However, that’s expected by many fans to change on February 27, exactly one year after the Legends: Z-A reveal. February 27 marks Pokemon Day, which will surely bring tons of news about the Pokemon franchise as a whole. Last year’s Pokemon Day not only introduced a new Legends series spinoff but also revealed Pokemon TCG Pocket, a mobile phenomenon that adapts the franchise’s tabletop card game.
