Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, just like your average RPG, is based on choices. The choices you make throughout the game affect your experience. One such choice appears during Back in the Saddle’s main quest; you will be given an opportunity to replace your horse Pebbles.

You’ll need to find a horse trader to keep your horse clean in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

There are quite a few horses you can buy in the game and Pebbles is one of them. At first glance, the choice would be obvious as Herring’s value would far exceed Pebble’s value. However, there are certain things to consider before making the decision. Here, we will tell you what decision would be best for you.

Should You Replace Pebbles?

Henry talking to Kabat about whether he will keep Pebbles or exchange her with Herring.

After you have listened to everything the Chamberlain has said and taken back your stuff, it is time to head over to Kabat, the stable hand. As promised, he will offer you a horse, Herring to your journey. If you take this gift, Pebbles will be replaced and you will have a new horse.

  • However, you should not replace Pebbles as, for starters, she is Henry’s old horse! While nostalgia is a factor, it is not the main one. After traveling around 35km with Pebbles, you will unlock the Good Old Pebbles perk that makes this horse one of the best ones in the game. With this perk, Pebble’s stats will be significantly increased.

On the other hand, Herring’s perk is unlocked after traveling for 50km. So, if you choose Herring, not only will it take more time to unlock the perk, but the difference isn’t as huge.

Kabat’s Offer

Kabat is making a shady offer to Henry.

If you choose to keep Pebbles as your horse, Kabat will make you a strange deal. Kabat suggests that he will tell Von Bergow that you took the horse so he could sell it to the nomad traders. If you agree to his scheme you will get 300 Groschen.

If you can convince Kabat with your speech skills, he will offer you 600 Groschen instead of 300.

Ask Kabat for some pointers, and after giving you advice he will provide you with equipment for the horse.
