Today’s Overwatch Spotlight broadcast has given us a bunch of new info on what to expect from Overwatch 2 in 2025. This includes not one, but two character reveals, as Hero 43 and 44 are shown off for the first time.
As confirmed in the broadcast, Hero 43 is Freja, a Damage hero. She wields a crossbow and is described as being one of the most difficult characters to play in the game. She will require precision to land her shots, but also appears to be incredibly mobile, and can glide through the air.
Our First Look At Hero 43 And 44 In Overwatch 2
Freja is joining the roster first, being trailed in Season 15
Freja is a former member of Overwatch from Denmark, but now works as a bounty hunter. She will be available in a trial in Season 15, which starts on February 18. This will be alongside other new additions to the game, like hero perks.
As well as this brief bit of backstory, we got a look at her gameplay, and she appears to be incredibly mobile, able to reach higher grounds and duck away from enemy attacks. We were told that she works best from a distance, so these abilities should come in handy to get away from our foes.
Aqua will be added to the game in Season 18. We don’t know any of his moves yet, but he’s described as having some of the most “unique” abilities of any hero in the game. He’s also described as a water wielder, so that will likely play into his kit.
In the meantime, Season 16 will give us a new game mode, so there’s plenty planned for 2025.
