Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a highly dynamic game, where players can approach quests, dialogue, and exploration in their own way. Among the many choices to be made, Henry can attempt to romance certain characters, which in some cases will merely lead to a night of fun, (often a hidden cutscene where time is advanced).

At other times, romance in KCD2 can be a little more nuanced and Henry can truly win the affections of some characters. As a warning, a few romances also lead to cutscenes with nudity.
How Does Romance Work In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
For the most part, romance in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 isn’t something players can just set off and do. The romanceable characters mostly appear during the main quests, however, there are often no quest markers indicating these opportunities.
Instead, players will have to listen to characters calling out for Henry, such as when Doubravka’s mother asks him to dance with her daughter during the Wedding Crashers quest. Alternatively, players can be proactive and try talking to more characters.
Making The Right Dialogue Choices & Skill Checks
Romancing these characters often comes down to Henry’s dialogue choices and his actions. Try to gauge characters and answer with what you think they’d like to hear, and this will often be the correct choice.
Unfortunately, the player’s choice won’t always be enough, as in this highly immersive game, the same line spoken by a scholar and an uneducated version of Henry come across completely differently.
In other words, Henry will often have to pass skill checks in order to romance:
- Persuasion/Speech: Via eloquence, Henry will attempt to persuade. This is mostly derived from his Speech stat, but to a lesser extent his Charisma.
- Impression/Charisma: Henry will attempt to impress. His reputation and Charisma are most important here, but his Speech stat also helps a little.
- Scholarship: Using his Scholarship skill, Henry can try to win affection with his impressive knowledge.
Not all of these options will always be available, and nor should players always pick the one with the highest score. The recipient also matters. For example, it would be much harder to use Scholarship in conversation with a highly educated character.

The Liberal Arts Scholarship Perk can help with this by displaying if the options are easy, medium, or hard. However, this only highlights the difficulty of the skill check and the listener, not Henry’s chances of succeeding. If it says ‘Easy’ for Impression/Charisma, but Henry has an awful reputation and Charisma, this might fail.
Look For The Heart & Hands Icon In Dialogue
In some situations, players may be unaware if their attempts at romancing are succeeding, or even if they are talking to a romanceable character.
However, if a red heart icon with two hands ever appears, then click this for romance. Often, this is the final agreement to romance, but in some cases, it can also be the first subtle move in more drawn-out romances.
Completing Small Tasks For Romance
Sometimes, characters will ask Henry to complete small optional objectives, such as picking flowers. As romance is often tied to main quests, make sure to complete them before time runs out or before finishing the major objectives.

Clothes, Hygiene, & Perfume For Romance
Dressing for the occasion in Tier 3 fancy clothes with high Charisma is an easy way to make Henry more appealing, although enough Groschen is needed of course. Players should make sure that these clothes are repaired and washed, and Henry himself should be clean too. This all affects his Charisma.
Lastly, there are many perfumes in KCD2 that can temporarily enhance his Charisma, but be careful not to wear multiple at once. These can be bought or crafted via alchemy. The following potions can also be useful before talking to a potential partner.
