If there’s anything Guardians love more than killing elite enemies of humanity, it’s turning them into guns. The latest weapon to join the growing list of death for the Guardian’s arsenal in Destiny 2 is Finality’s Auger, a Linear Fusion Rifle in the Power Weapon category that promises a unique appearance, fire rate, and of course, an intrinsic trait.

Destiny 2: Every Dungeon, Ranked By How Hard They Are To Solo
Soloing a dungeon in Destiny 2 is no easy task. Here’s how each of the game’s dungeons ranks in terms of solo completion difficulty.
However, acquiring Finality’s Auger in Destiny 2 isn’t as simple as just venturing to a vendor and claiming it, as instead, players must put on their best builds to head into the Sundered Doctrine dungeon and hope that the RNG gods over at Bungie bless them with marvelous loot.
How to Get Finality’s Auger in Destiny 2
In order to unlock Finality’s Auger, players must have obtained The Drowning Labyrinth quest from Ikora Rey, which allows them to access the Sundered Doctrine dungeon found on Savathuun’s Throne World. Players can get Finality’s Auger through a random chance after beating the third and final encounter of Sundered Doctrine by defeating Kerrev, The Erased.
Players only have 3 chances per week to try and get Finality’s Auger from beating the Sundered Doctrine dungeon, so long as they complete the dungeon on each of the three classes: Titan, Warlock, and Hunter. Players cannot farm for Finality’s Auger outside of these three runs, with one run per character. However, there is a way to increase the drop rate chance.
The only actual guaranteed way to get Finality’s Auger would have been for those who managed to complete the dungeon during Contest Mode, between February 7th to February 9th.
How to Increase Drop Rate Chance For Finality’s Auger
While acquiring Finality’s Auger might be dependent on sheer luck, there is a way to make fortune favor the Guardian by completing specific Triumphs under the Sundered Doctrine tab. There are 3 ways to increase the initial Finality’s Auger drop rate, with each of them being listed below:
Triumph |
How to Complete |
Laboratory Inspector |
Find all 9 collectibles in the Sundered Doctrine dungeon |
Lonely Travels |
Complete all encounters in the Sundered Doctrine dungeon solo and without leaving the activity. |
Military Doctrine |
Complete all 3 Sundered Doctrine dungeon encounters on Master difficulty. |
Completing these Triumphs and claiming them from the Titles tab does not mean that players will get the Finality’s Auger exotic guaranteed, but it will increase their chances somewhat as they attempt to beat the RNG gods.

- Runescribe’s Forge: (Square/R/X) Long Press to fire a special projectile that deploys a Ruinscribe Turret. This projectile costs 3 ammo to fire. Aim the projectile skyward to provide the clearest sight lines for the turret which will automatically shoot at nearby targets.
Finality’s Auger’s special Exotic Perk allows players to hold reload to shoot a projectile upwards, which will then spawn as a turret. The enemies in-game will ignore the turret, allowing those who have fired it to rain hellfire from above with a turret that lasts for 25 seconds before despawning, to which players will then have to place another turret. The perk doesn’t deal incredible damage, but its splash damage really helps with ads, and it’s made even better with the second Exotic Perk, Ruinscribe’s Beacon: While a Ruinscribe Turret is deployed, this weapon can paint targets with its laser projectiles. The turret prioritizes painted targets and fires more powerful munitions at them. Square/R/X Press to swap between normal fire and laser fire modes.
With this second Exotic Perk, players can effectively paint a zone with the weapon like it’s a laser targeting system, and this will basically allow players to call in portable airstrikes that will see the turret fire on the painted area in five-round bursts to easily take out ads and even deal effective damage at boss enemies.
For the normal firing mode, Finality’s Auger is a fairly standard Linear Fusion Rifle that can deal pretty solid damage, but it’s best used by firing the turret, painting an area, and then unloading the magazine of the standard Linear Fusion Rifle.
Finality’s Auger is a fun weapon that is also one of the best in Episode: Heresey thanks to the fact that its Perk does not use up any ammo.
