It’s always spooky season in the swamp.

Plenty of them, like Sticks and Pineapples, can be found regularly just by exploring one of their home regions, but some are a bit too special. To get yourself certain important items like the Light Stone, you’ll need to get cozy with a certain horror-loving rabbit who lives in the Spooky Swamp.

To get Light Stones for your crafting needs, you’ll need to open the locked gate that leads to the Spooky Swamp by finding the three Yellow Power Stars that power the doors.

When you’re in Spooky Swamp, head toward the middle of the region and find Kuromi. If it’s your first time meeting her, you’ll need to speak with her north of the Nature Preserve, then follow her to her usual spot, but if not, begin gifting Kuromi things she likes and loves.

Kuromi is a fan of one of the most common items found in the swamp, Pumpkins, and around eight of them can be found in the gardens in the center of the graveyard.

Each time you gift Kuromi something she likes, you’ll receive one to six Light Stones, depending on how many hearts the item is worth. Since you can give three gifts per day, you can get upwards of six per day on average just by giving her one-heart items.

The Light Stones you get from here will be used to craft a variety of important items, most notably the Net for catching Critters and the Sparks needed to power the Ziplines and craft the Snorkel.

Sometimes you’ll need them as an exchange currency for furniture from the Spooky Set in My Melody’s shop, clothes from Tuxedosam’s shop, and a handful of event recipes.

One of the easiest items to give Kuromi for lots of Light Stones and for raising her friendship is the Jack-o-Lantern, which is crafted from five Pumpkins once you find its recipe in a chest in the Spooky Swamp.
