The description of Thistle states that it grows in roadside ditches. This means that whenever you are riding your horse, be on the lookout for purple plants on either side of the road. These are mostly located underneath the shadow of a stone fence rather than out in the open under direct sunlight. The first location to find multiple Thistle plants is at Apothecary Emerich’s yard, where numerous alchemy plants grow, including Thistle.

Another good place to find Thistle is the campsite located right outside the town of Semine. There are a few near the stone fence and others growing to the left of the campsite. One of the best locations to farm Thistle is right outside Tachov, near the shed at the exit. If you have completed the Blacksmith’s Son side quest for Blacksmith Radovan, you will gain access to a bed in Tachov, making it convenient to store your gathered Thistle in the shared storage.

In Tachov, you can smith weapons at Blacksmith Radavon’s workshop. Resmithing a weapon can improve its quality as well as increase its damage.
