With the LEC 2025 winter regular split over, it’s time to turn our eyes to the playoffs match between FNC and TH? Let’s find out what we can expect going into the series in our preview.
FNC vs TH – LEC Winter Playoffs Preview
The LEC 2025 season saw teams compete in a single round-robin to determine the top 8 teams going to playoffs. Considering all the roster changes during the offseason, the top 8 somehow mirrored the expectations, with Rogue and SK Gaming eliminated from playoffs.
At the top, FNC emerged in great form, leading the charge with 8 wins out of the 9 matches played and looking convincing in most of their games. The new bot lane of Upset and Mikyx has looked solid and Razork has been the undisputed best jungler in the LEC.
On the other hand, Team Heretics has somewhat met the expectations, locking in a playoff spot with a full rookie team. Kamiloo, despite his first split, has shown some promising performances and the level of play can only go up from here.
Series Breakdown
Unfortunately for TH, going up against FNC in the first round of playoffs might be a big reality check for them. On an individual level, FNC has the better across every single role and I doubt that there is much Team Heretics can do to match it.
One thing that can influence the outcome, however, is the addition of Fearless Draft in playoffs. LEC is the last major region to bring it but we already saw how influential it can be, especially with certain teams or players.
Sheo is known for having quite a large champion pool and it showed during the regular split, playing 8 different picks (compared to Razork’s five). If Team Heretics somehow want to put up a fight, they must find a way to shut down Razork and his early-mid game.
Otherwise, this should be a quick 2-0 for FNC, and they should be expected to face one team between GX and G2.
