Borderlands 4 just got a new trailer at PlayStation’s State of Play, giving us a more in-depth look at the gameplay. The trailer also confirms the release date: September 23, 2025.
As well as the release date, the trailer gives us our best look at the gameplay yet. This includes a lot of shots of the first-person gameplay, as well as a bunch of new weapons we can use to mow down enemies.

Borderlands 4 will be with us on September 23
The release date reveal comes just two months after the game’s big unveil at The Game Awards last December. It served as a good pallet cleanser for the failure of the film adaptation, which was a miss with fans and critics alike, whole also bombing at the box office.
This comes as part of PlayStation’s State of Play broadcast. Many other games were also showcased, including a gameplay reveal for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and the reveal of Digimon Story: Time Stranger.
