Summary
- April is teased as an exciting month for PlayStation gamers by industry insider Tom Warren.
- Unlikely to see Grand Theft Auto 6 soon; focus on potential PlayStation exclusives announcements.
- Speculation on possible games to be revealed soon at Sony’s next State of Play.
Industry insider Tom Warren says that April is going to be an awesome month for PlayStation gamers, but he has chosen not to explain further. Although there’s very little related information coming from Warren outside of that, his reputation within the game industry signals that gamers should keep an eye out for an announcement sometime soon, and from the looks of it, it’s likely to be a PlayStation exclusive.
It’s not likely that gamers will see a show-stopper like Grand Theft Auto 6 anytime soon, since the game is a multiplatform release and it’s already clear that its release window will be closer to fall. PlayStation exclusives like Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet have gone quiet momentarily, although Naughty Dog developers have said in press statements about the game that they’re excited to show fans more. Though its IP appears to be in limbo, many are hyped about the possibility of a Bloodborne remaster showing up during Sony’s next State of Play and surprising everyone, though there are likely better odds of seeing Elden Ring Nightreign.

Rumor: New PS5 Bundle Details Leak Online
A well-known industry insider reports that Sony is preparing a new PlayStation 5 bundle, which could hit the market sooner rather than later.
Tom Warren, senior editor of The Verge, reports that April is going to be a great month for PlayStation gamers who may already be set for an amazing 2025. Despite expressing confidence in the brand and the month, Warren did not expand on why these players should specifically be looking forward to April. It seems like he may be nodding at a release date for one or more games that will be revealed soon.
Exciting PlayStation Releases Teased for April
Warren’s social media post coming so soon after the February 12 PlayStation State of Play announcement makes it seem like he’s already heard about at least one of the supposedly several major announcements due that day, and that they’re going to be worth talking about for a while. Of the known major releases coming to PlayStation this year, there are few big names confirmed for April outside of multiplatform releases like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. This does leave room for several possibilities based on confirmed 2025 releases with no specific dates.
Of the games that are likeliest to come out soon, some seem to have more clear progress than others. Although games like Ghost of Yotei might be exciting to see, there hasn’t been much of it shown at all yet, which might mean it’s still not ready to be seen. Death Stranding 2 has had a few progress updates, but no precise release date has been shown. This could mean that the State of Play is a perfect window to showcase detailed gameplay along with a date to generate hype among fans. Regardless of what gets announced, there seems like a decent chance it’ll be a hit.
