Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 follows this same approach, offering a variety of side activities that take players across its immersive medieval world. How To Start The Axe From The Lake Task In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
To start this task, you must first make your way to Tachov in the Trosky Region. This area is north of Troskowitz, where you arrive once you are able to freely explore the open world Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has to offer.
Head to the Tavern to find Zdenyek the Mouth. He usually roams around the Tavern, sits at one of the tables, or works nearby. Before talking to him, you can head inside the Tavern and speak to Innkeeper Prochek. By asking what’s going on around here, you will learn more about the town and Zdenyek, who prefers a drink if he is to share his stories. You can buy him a drink since it doesn’t cost much, but be sure to haggle to save a few Groschen.
If you are short on money, you can play Dice with Jenovefa right outside the Tavern for some quick cash. You can earn a lot more if you have a badge on you.
Go to Zdenyek and talk to him now, and Henry will ask for his stories. He will ask for a drink or some Groschen (25 to be exact). You can try the other options if your stats are high enough, but a drink always works. You can ask him for any genre of story, as he will tell you the same one.
The story is about two brothers, one of whom acquired a silver axe, while the other died because of his greed. The Mouth will tell you that Matthias buried Kuba along with the axe near Rocktower Pond. Make sure to select the first option every time to gain Reputation.
Where To Find The Silver Axe In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
With the task accepted, you can find a large area on the map just west of Zhelejov. Follow the path along the pond, and as soon as you reach the task marker on the map in the middle of the search zone, take the right path through the forest.
Head up the hill, and you will soon reach a nest. It is here that you will find a grave you can dig, the location of which can be seen on the map in the image above.
Digging the grave will require a spade. You can buy one from Merchant Jurg Thomel in Troskowitz. You can also steal a Spade if you find one lying around, but be careful—if you’re caught, you’ll have to pay a fine or face a punishment that usually lowers your Reputation and temporarily reduces your stats.
Inside the grave, you will find the following items:
- Broken Round Shield
- Gemstone Silver Ring

Marigold

Broken Axe
Transfer all items to your inventory and make your way back to Tachov.
Repairing The Axe
In Tachov, you can repair the axe with the help of the blacksmith Radovan. Start blacksmithing and make the Adorned Axe, which requires the Broken Axe and one Fastening material. Begin by heating the metal piece in the forge until it changes color to a whitish-orange—this is your cue to take it to the anvil for hammering.
When smithing, avoid hitting the same spot more than once. Keep moving the workpiece as the process continues and rotate it to smith the other side. Once the glow fades, reheat it in the forge and repeat the process until the smithing is complete.
Listen to Henry’s dialogue throughout the process. If you’re doing something wrong, he will mention it repeatedly before the smithing fails entirely. In the same case, if you’re doing everything correctly, Henry will mention that it should take just a little more time to get it done.
Once the axe has been repaired, go back to Zdenyek and tell him about it. After your conversation, the task will be completed, and the Adorned Axe will be yours to keep.
