In Hello Kitty Island Adventure, you’ll want to raise your friendship level with the Sanrio characters to unlock more quests. By doing so, you may unlock a new area that wasn’t accessible at the start of your playthrough. New areas mean new resources, which in turn means new crafting plans and recipes. Sakura is a resource that only grows in the Merry Meadow. To reach it, you’ll need to complete one of Island Adventure‘s “Around The Island” quests.

How to Unlock Merry Meadows
Where to Find Merry Meadows
To get to the Merry Meadows area, you’ll need to complete the “Curious Caverns” quest. To unlock this, you’ll need to do the following:
- “Dessert-ed Boat” (Pompompurin level 4)
- “Parched” (Complete “Dessert-ed Boat,” “Meet the Island Beings,” and “Open the Nature Preserve”)
- “Revive the Oasis” (My Melody level 11)
Your main challenge is going to be leveling up My Melody to 11. Hopefully you have access to the Espresso Machine at Comedy Hall (Rainbow Reef). If you have the right ingredients (Candelnut and Strawberry), you can make Pink Latte, which is a 2-heart gift for My Melody. Until you level up the ice cream machine at Pompompurin’s, this is the best gift to grind experience.
Once My Melody is level 11, go to the Oasis on Gemstone Mountain to speak to Keroppi. Your goal is to bring water back to the dried-up oasis by clearing the blockage in the Crystal Caves. During this quest, you’ll receive the crafting plans for the Pickaxe.
After you’ve completed “Revive the Oasis”, you can start “Curious Caverns,” which unlocks Merry Meadow. The entrance to the Merry Meadow is behind the waterfall south of Pompompurin’s boat. You’ll have to use the pickaxe to break the boulder.
Merry Meadow is split into three levels. At the start, you’ll only be able to explore the Meadow Fields. To unlock the higher areas, you’ll need a Giant Seed to grow a beanstalk vine.

Merry Meadows Fields
Fortunately, sakura grows on the pink trees in the Merry Meadows Fields. You don’t need to grow the first beanstalk to start collecting them. It should be noted that collectible sakura are more “detailed” than the non-collectible ones growing on the trees. They’ll also be outlined in white when you’re close enough to grab them, much like any other resource in Island Adventure.
You can also have the Nul outside My Melody’s store collect sakura for you. You may get more sakura through this method, but you’ll need to wait a full day before you can receive them.
