Relationships are a major part of a sim’s life in The Sims 2. They can develop their ties with family and neighbors into blossoming bonds, but they can also make enemies when they treat other sims poorly. As sims meet people and deepen relationships, they can form connections that will last a lifetime and may even give birth to new families.
A sim must engage in social interactions with others in order to build relationships with them. Certain interactions such as telling jokes can improve a relationship when successful or impact it negatively when failed. To succeed more in socialization, sims should improve their Charisma skill.
How To Raise The Charisma Skill
There are several activities a sim can do to raise their Charisma skill:
- Use a mirror to Practice Speech.
- Use a mirror to Practice Romance.
- Play with an Execuputter.
- Use the Enterprise Office Concepts Bushmaster Tele-Prompter.
- Be taught by a sim with a higher Charisma skill.
- Read Charisma skill books from the Books First For Learning bookshelf.
- Talking to birds.
- Teaching birds to talk.
- Toddlers can play with a Rip Co. Wobbly Wabbit Head.
- Toddlers can learn or sing nursery rhymes.
What Are The Benefits Of The Charisma Skill
The Charisma skill is important when it comes to succeeding in social interactions. This is especially important when a sim has aspirations that are all about improving relationships with other sims.
Sims that aspirations linked to relationship-building will need to succeed in certain interactions to gain aspiration points. Failing these interactions may lead to a deduction in aspiration points if a corresponding aspiration penalty is active.
When it comes to sims entering university, those with a high level of Charisma may be eligible for the Bain-Gordon Communication Fellowship scholarship.
Adult sims will also need the Charisma skill in certain professions:
- Athletic
- Business
- Military
- Politics
- Slacker
- Artist
- Paranormal
- Show Business
- Adventurer
- Education
- Journalism
- Music
- Law
- Dance
- Entertainment
