John Lithgow Has This Advice For The Actor Playing Trinity In The Dexter Spin-Off

John Lithgow has offered some key advice to whoever takes on the role of the young Trinity Killer in the Dexter spin-off.

Besides playing Tyrion Lannister on Game of Thrones from 2011 to 2019, Dinklage voiced a character on Rick and Morty season 6. He has appeared on several TV shows as well, including playing Marlowe Sawyer on Nip/Tuck and Arthur Ramsey on Threshold. Some of Dinklage’s most well-known movie roles include Casca Highbottom in the prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Peter in Death at a Funeral, and the voice of Mighty Eagle in The Angry Birds Movie.

Of course, no matter how many TV or movie roles Dinklage takes on, fans will always want to hear more about his time on Game of Thrones as the wise and memorable Tyrion. In a 2022 interview with The Sunday Times, the actor talked about why he loved portraying Tyrion. He said:

“I do miss Tyrion. He was just lovely, funny and the writers were smart to not only give him the joke that ends up on a T-shirt, but also have him be more than that — in a world prejudiced against him. Every season we’d get all 10 scripts at the start, like a novel. I’d go through them ravenously. Not to find out if my character died, but just to enjoy it. It was really such a joy.”

Although fans still have to wait several more months before they can see the premiere of Dexter: Resurrection, at least they can look forward to seeing Dinklage’s character Leon. He sounds like a compelling character who might have as many layers and secrets as Dexter himself.

Viewers last left Dexter Morgan in episode 10 of Dexter: New Blood called “Sins of the Father,” which aired on January 9th, 2022. Dexter appears to die, which is why fans are so curious about how he is going to come back to life in the spinoff series. Ever since fans found out that there would be no season 2 of Dexter: New Blood but there would be two Dexter spinoffs, they have been waiting for more details about Dexter: Resurrection. The Dexter prequel series, Dexter: Original Sin, premiered in December 2024, and when Dexter: Resurrection arrives in June 2025, fans will be happy to uncover more about Dexter’s mysterious life.
