The vast majority of the fans currently have their eyes on Scopper Gaban, Roger’s very own left-hand man who possesses tremendous power, as he is about to take on Luffy, Zoro, and Nami in battle. But, fans shouldn’t forget about the other important aspects of the story that Oda revealed with One Piece chapter 1139. Through the character of Scopper Gaban, Oda introduced fans to new hybrid races, and some of them are very confusing, to say the least.
Scopper Gaban Talks About The Hybrid Races.
Scopper Gaban Reveals The Many Hybrid Races of One Piece
- Scopper Gaban Is Introduced In One Piece 1139
- Gaban Reveals Some Hybrid Races
Fans finally got to see Scopper Gaban being introduced in the story in One Piece chapter 1139. Of course, every One Piece fan knew of the existence of Scopper Gaban. He was seen in chapter 19 of the manga first of all, and later down the line, in One Piece Blue Deep, Gaban was named alongside Roger and Rayleigh. When Gaban started showing up later down the line, it came as no surprise to the fans. However, few had maintained hope that he would go on to play a very important role in the Elbaf arc of One Piece. Scopper Gaban finally showed up in One Piece chapter 1139, and upon his debut, he revealed to the fans that he was the father of Collun and the husband of Ripley, the 80-year-old giant that fans saw in the Elbaf arc. Gaban is a human, yet he’s married to a Giant, which certainly raises many questions.
I am the minister of love! — Scopper Gaban
But according to Gaban, love is freedom. He goes on to say that throughout history, there have been many who are born as mixed races. This is where Gaban revealed some very exciting bits of information about the mixed race. Gaban mentioned the Buccaneers, who fans know possess the blood of the Giants, but exactly how is unknown. It also remains to be seen which two races make up Buccaneers. If it’s humans and Giants, then Collun, Gaban’s own son, is a member of the Buccaneer tribe as well. But, his appearance doesn’t seem to be very Buccaneer-like, which raises quite a few doubts in the mind. Oda will definitely have to clarify which races combine to create the Buccaneers of the One Piece world.
Scopper Gaban also went on to introduce two other hybrid races to the fans. The first one of the two was the longarm-leg-neck tribe. This is a very complicated hybrid race that fans have never seen in One Piece. Its roots are set in the Whole Cake Island arc of One Piece. Essentially, fans saw a mix of the long arms and the long legs in the Whole Cake Island arc. This mix was named the Long-Armleg in the Whole Cake Island arc of One Piece.
Now, when this already hybrid race procreates with someone from the Snakeneck race of the One Piece world, it gives rise to the Long-Armlegneck race. This race has the features of all the longarm race, the long-leg race, and the Snakeneck race of the One Piece world. In other words, this race has long arms, long legs, and a long neck as well.
What Is The Dosundada Race?
A Completely New And Unknown Hybrid Race
While the other two are races that fans already know of or at least can make sense of, there was another hybrid that Scopper Gaban introduced the fans to in One Piece chapter 1139, and this race is the Dosundada. Fans don’t know much about it so far, and there don’t seem to be too many clues in the story either. But, knowing how meticulous Oda is as a writer, it is quite easy to see that the Dosundada are going to be brought up in the story at some point and that they’ll go on to play a very important role.
Love is freedom. There have always been those who defy the odds. — Scopper Gaban
One race that could perhaps form the Dosundada is the Tontatta of the One Piece world. They can be one of the two races that procreate to give rise to this race. This is simply because the last part of the Dosundada name sounds quite similar to the Tontatta. Perhaps, they are the ones who led to the creation of this race. However, it is still unclear as to which other race joins together with the Tontatta to create the Dosundada. It could be any race, and fans don’t have any clue.
Some good guesses could be the Fishman, as Dosun is a named Fishman from the Fishman Island Arc, and perhaps a clue from Oda. It could also be humans. Fans have already seen a human and Tontatta mix, as two of Big Mom’s children were had with Tontatta. It could even be Giants themselves, which would make for a very bizarre hybrid race, but a very real one indeed.
Could The Dosundada Be Important In The Story?
Given Oda’s Track Record, They’re Likely Important
For now, everything that fans know about the hybrid race called Dosundada is complete conjecture. Oda has not revealed too many clues either, and hopefully, with time, things will be clearer. One thing that fans can say for sure is that the Dosundada will definitely be important in One Piece in one way or another.
It is possible that Oda will bring up this race in an SBS sometime later down the line. It is also possible that they’ll end up playing a very important role in the story later down the line and perhaps aid Luffy in some way.
It’ll definitely be interesting to see how Oda handles this part of the story, and hopefully, the next few chapters will elaborate upon the idea of mixing, and more than that, the many hybrid races of the world. Thanks to Scopper Gaban, Oda has been introducing the fans to a ton of exciting lore, and there is more certainly more to come as One Piece continues. For now, the series is on break, but once Oda returns, One Piece will definitely have some very exciting reveals lined up for the fans.
One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1140, is set to be February 23, 2025.
