Lost Ark Dev Talks Upcoming Wild Soul Advanced Class

Lost Ark is deep in third-anniversary celebrations right now, but that is no reason to stop the rollout of regular updates. That goes for the new Wild Soul advanced class also set to release this February. The Wild Soul has the ability to transform into a beast, such as a bear or a Kumiho, unleashing powerful and animalistic attacks on enemies. Furthermore, being a member of the Yoz tribe gives this class the power to summon spirits, like birds or foxes, to fight alongside them in battle.

As is often the case with a new class, the Wild Soul has had a mixed reception in South Korea while some issues are still being worked out. There are plenty of tweaks still to be made ahead of its western release, and many are sure to include this class in their roster. Game Rant recently spoke with Matthew Huston, associate franchise lead for Lost Ark at Amazon Games, about this upcoming class.

Lost Ark: Best Melee Builds

For Lost Ark players who prefer the up close and personal, here are some of the most devastating melee builds in the MMORPG.

Introducing A New Class

Huston explained that the timing of the release being around Lost Ark’s third anniversary is purely coincidental and that February 2025 just seemed like the best time, especially since it was recently released in South Korea. Many Western players are certainly excited about trying out Wild Soul, given its powerful abilities and striking design.

“It is a very unique Specialist class that mixes things up compared to other classes. Despite the mixed comments, I think we’ll see quite a few players adding it to their rosters.”

The Glaivier class had a similar history, as it was much hyped prior to release. After being met with some initial disappointment among the player base, it has since been updated and is now a popular class choice for many players, occupying a space on their rosters.

New Progression Events

Alongside this new class, players should expect progression events as is usually the case. This time they are aiming to stick with a popular formula but make some minor changes to improve the overall experience.

“I think you can expect something similar, but we always try to tweak it slightly or adjust the rewards based on the current state of the game. We will be bringing back an event that did well, with some needed adjustments, so keep an eye out for that as we share more details with our February update.”

The impending February release has many players very excited, so these progression events are sure to attract many of them to Arkesia, especially with anniversary festivities taking place concurrently. Lost Ark is one of the most played games on Steam and shows no signs of slowing down in 2025.
