How To Upgrade Pebbles Your Horse In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Having a good horse makes a massive difference in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. At the start of the game, Pebbles is slow, weak, and has really low stamina. Throughout, you’ll be tempted to buy a better horse to replace him, but you shouldn’t.

That’s because Pebbles eventually becomes one of the best horses in the game. You can unlock a perk called Good Old Pebbles, which drastically upgrades all of Pebbles’ stats. That means you don’t need to worry about spending thousands of Groschen on a new horse. Pebbles will be more than good enough if you stick with him.

Unlike most perks in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the Good Old Pebbles perk is a hidden perk that only appears once you unlock it.

Good Old Pebbles unlocks after you spend enough time riding Pebbles. For us, it unlocked around level 14 of the Horsemanship skill, about halfway through the story in the Kuttenberg region.

Once you’ve unlocked the Good Old Pebbles perk, a notification will pop in the top right of the screen.

According to some, you need to ride between 30 and 40km with Pebbles as your horse. You can check your stats by heading to the player screen and tabbing over to the Statistics screen. That’ll show you how far you’ve ridden on horseback.

If you want to unlock the Good Old Pebbles perk as quickly as you can, ride Pebbles everywhere you can. Don’t run or fast travel – always travel on horseback.

You can compare Pebbles’ new stats to those of any other horse you stumble across as you explore both regions in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. After his upgrade, not many horses are better.
