How to Unlock All Characters in Sworn
There are a total of four characters in Sworn: Vigilante, Rook, Specter, and Monk. When you start the game, you’ll only be able to play with Vigilante. It’s a straightforward melee class that starts with a sword as its primary weapon.
To unlock the subsequent characters, you’ll need to play the game and clear rooms as a specific class. Then, spend Fairy Embers to buy the new character when you return to Carmarthen Tower, the game’s main hub. Interact with the Character Statues near the spawn point once you meet the requirements to unlock the character.
Fairy Embers are earned as rewards for completing the relevant rooms during your run.
Each character unlock is tied to the character you unlocked before it. The unlock order is:

You don’t have to progress to a certain point in the story to unlock any of these characters. If you die after clearing only one room, it will still count towards your unlock requirements.

Since there’s a specific order to how you unlock characters in Sworn, you’ll have to try out every single character as you progress through the game. This system ensures you give each character a chance before you start focusing on one for your future runs. There are no “best class” in this game and each character has a completely unique playstyle.
Once you’ve unlocked a character, you can switch between them in Carmarthen Tower. Simply interact with the statue of the character in the hub to start your run with the character. Of course, you won’t have access to any of their weapons or spells other than the basic ones. However, the upgrades from The Source and the Enhancements shop will remain active across all characters in Sworn.
