How to Get Frankfurt Steel in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

How to Get Frankfurt Steel in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

While you can always find or buy equipment in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you also have the option to craft your own at a smithy’s forge. Not only is making your own gear more cost-effective, but it can also result in much stronger items when done correctly. However, this process needs materials, and Frankfurt Steel is going to be a key ingredient for a number of schematics.

Frankfurt Steel isn’t terribly hard to find, but if you’re yet to progress through the main questline of KCD2, you may have trouble getting some. Once you do make enough progress, Frankfurt Steel becomes much more accessible.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – How To Get Better Prices

There are a few ways to get better prices in Kingdom Come: Deliverance to get the full value when selling something; here’s how.

Where to Buy Frankfurt Steel in KCD2

KCD2 Blacksmith Osina's location

You can get a steady supply of Frankfurt Steel as soon as you earn the right to enter Trosky Castle, as it is sold by the blacksmith there. This is going to take some time, though, as entrance to the castle is locked behind quest progression.

First, you need to finish the Wedding Crashers quest, which involves visiting either the miller in Lower Semine or the blacksmith in Tachov. You only need to complete one of these two sub-quests, and after you attend the wedding at Semine, you’ll immediately start the For Whom The Bell Tolls quest, which takes place Trosky Castle. Even so, you’ll need to finish that quest too in order to regain your freedom.

Looting Frankfurt Steel in KCD2

Looting Frankfurt Steel in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

There are a number of places where you can potentially find Frankfurt Steel as loot. However, given the randomized nature of loot containers in this game, there’s a chance that the chests in your save might have different contents.

Semine

One chest we found is in the horse trader’s barn in Semine. There’s a chest upstairs with a medium lock, so you’ll need to either brush up on your KCD2 lockpicking skills, or find the key to it. Luckily, the key is hanging on one of the wooden pillars downstairs, by the doors leading out to the horse pasture. Wait for midnight, then grab the key. Open the chest upstairs, and you’ll get three pieces of Frankfurt Steel along with other crafting materials, including a weapon schematic.

Apollonia

There’s another chest in Apollonia, directly east of Trosky Castle. There’s a cave at the end of the path as shown on the map above. Enter the cave, then follow the path to the right. Keep exploring until you find two sets of ladders, with one leading to the other. Climb up, then follow the tunnel to the left.

You’ll end up in a large cavern with a tree growing in it. There’s a locked chest somewhere in the middle of the cavern, and the key to it is under a skull next to the tree. Inside the chest are two pieces of Frankfurt Steel, about 200 Groschen, and some random junk.

Pickup the jugs of Ancient Moonshine in this cave. They restore a ton of stats, and they sell for a high price too.
