One of 2024’s highly rated first-party titles from Xbox, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, is reportedly coming to PS5 “pretty soon.” If true, Hellblade 2 would be the latest first-party game to end up on rival PlayStation’s console, following in the footsteps of certain other popular titles, including Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Developed by the Xbox-owned developer Ninja Theory, Hellblade 2 first hit the shelves on May 21, 2024, for PC and Xbox Series X/S. The action-adventure game, which acts as the sequel to 2017’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, came out to a positive critical reception and notably also bagged multiple wins at The Game Awards 2024. After achieving these distinctions, Hellblade 2 may now be headed to PlayStation, after other first-party games—such as Forza Horizon 5, Age of Empires 2, and Age of Mythology: Retold—were confirmed to be making the cross-platform jump in recent weeks.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 could be announced for PS5 in the near future, per Windows Central’s Jez Corden. On Twitter, while talking about the chances of the gritty hack-and-slash game coming over to Sony’s console, he said, “not if, ‘when!’ and when is pretty soon from what ive [sic] been hearing.” In a different tweet, he had previously suggested that the Hellblade 2 announcement might arrive during the forthcoming State of Play livestream on February 12, 2025. Replying to another user, Corden also stated that he is “sure” another Xbox first-party title, South of Midnight, which is slated for release in April 2025, would also eventually make its way to PlayStation.
Hellblade 2 May Join the Growing List of Xbox Console Exclusives Coming to PlayStation
If the latest report turns out to be true, Hellblade 2 will become the newest subject of Xbox’s push for making its games available on third-party platforms, namely Nintendo and PlayStation. Owing to this strategy, the current console generation has already witnessed a slew of Xbox-published games, from 2022’s Pentiment to the forthcoming Doom: The Dark Ages, being announced for rival consoles. Based on this pattern, the rumored arrival of popular Microsoft-owned games, like Hellblade 2, may not appear unlikely but rather inevitable.
Besides Hellblade 2, a few other Xbox first-party IPs were previously reported to be coming to PS5 by the same source. Since then, Age of Mythology: Retold has been officially confirmed for the PlayStation, whereas similar announcements for the rumored arrivals of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, and Flight Simulator are yet to be made.
