It’s an excellent time for the horror genre. Slasher fans are enjoying Heart Eyes, which is currently in theaters, and those who like creature features likely enjoyed Wolf Man. If fans are looking for even more original scary stories, they can look forward the survival horror movie The Nowhere Game, which was recently announced. Of course, fans of legacy franchises like Scream also have a lot to look forward to as Scream 7 will arrive in theaters in February 2026.
Thanks to the many streaming services out there, there has never been a better time to sit back and enjoy all the films in a horror franchise. One popular franchise is doing really well on one streaming platform in particular, and it’s a good time to rewatch all of these fast-paced and entertaining movies.

The Final Destination Franchise Is High On The HBO Max Streaming Charts
According to Flix Patrol, the Final Destination franchise is doing well on HBO Max and almost every movie is on the Top 10 chart. Final Destination is number 3, Final Destination 2 is number 5, Final Destination is number 7, and Final Destination 3 is number 8. The only film in the franchise that isn’t on the streaming charts is The Final Destination, the fourth film released in 2009.
It’s the perfect time to rewatch the Final Destination franchise on Max since the sixth movie, Final Destination: Bloodlines, will be released in May 2025. A recent Final Destination: Bloodlines teaser shows one character in a horrifying situation in a tattoo parlor. Fans can see that the deaths will be as gory as ever and the characters will still be fighting Death, which is, of course, a battle that they aren’t going to win. No matter how many Final Destination movies are made, they will always be equally unsettling and entertaining.

Since Final Destination was released in 2000, Final Destination has been one of the most popular horror franchises thanks to the unique premise, goofy moments, and epic opening sequences. As it turns out, Jeffrey Reddick, the Final Destination writer who also created the franchise, wrote a spec script for The X-Files and then decided to turn it into a movie. It’s such a great idea that it’s no wonder it has become a popular franchise with a sixth movie coming soon. Reddick told Indiemacuser.com:
“I originally wrote a sample for the X Files using that setup about a person having a premonition and getting off a flight. And fortunately, my friends at New Line Cinema, the studio I worked at,…they were like, dude, this is a feature….don’t give us to a TV show…come up with a feature for it.”
Reddick continued:
“And, you know, after months and months of back and forth with the studio, because they weren’t able to get their head around the idea of a movie where you didn’t see the killer, where death was a killer.”
What Is Final Destination: Bloodlines About?
As JoBlo reported, Final Destination: Bloodlines follows a young woman named Stefanie whose family is being chased by Death. As the tagline reads:
“Death runs in the family.”
Since the sixth movie focuses on Stefanie, it will be interesting to see if Final Destination: Bloodlines can feature a final girl character who doesn’t die. This would make the film different and compelling. But no matter what happens to Stefanie, fans always look forward to a new Final Destination movie thanks to the unique kills and the dread every character feels once they realize they were supposed to die and Death is on their way. It remains to be seen if Stefanie herself will die or if she has been spared. But since her family seems to be cursed, it’s hard to believe that she would be safe in the end. Either way, Final Destination: Bloodlines sounds great, and fans can’t wait to dive deeper into this quirky and fun franchise.
