There are many famous horror series in games, from Amnesia to Bioshock to Silent Hill. And with Dead By Daylight positioning itself as a horror hall of fame, it only makes sense that they would team up with them to deliver their signature styles of horror.

Learn all about the best 2v8 Killer duos in Dead By Daylight!
And so, it’s not that surprising to see Resident Evil – a venerable franchise with a history of collaborating with Dead By Daylight – is entering the Fog once again to sponsor a brand-new version of the beloved game mode 2v8 from February 10 to February 25. Here’s the lowdown on what to expect (and what you can unlock) in 2v8: Resident Evil edition.
What is 2v8?
Dead By Daylight’s 2v8 Modifier is very simple: double the Killers, double the Survivors, double the fun. Neither side has access to Perks, Items, or Add-ons; the Maps are bigger than normal; and there are more Generators to complete (or defend).
What’s New In Resident Evil 2v8?
This version of 2v8 has a few new quirks. During your Trials in 2v8: Resident Evil, you’ll find Green and Yellow Herbs hidden around the map. Finding these Herbs will allow Survivors to restore health and undo Hook States, while Killers can consume them to gain a Haste effect.
In addition, three new Killers have been added to the roster: The Nemesis, The Mastermind (aka Wesker), and The Legion.
What’s in the Event Tome?
Most limited-time Modifiers in Dead By Daylight come with an associated Event Tome, and this one is no different. The following Challenges can only be completed while playing Resident Evil 2v8:

Character Trial System
When you log in, you might notice that you have a few extra Survivors and Killers in your roster. It’s not a bug, these are Character Trials. While a Game Mode or Modifier is active, certain survivors and killers can be used, even if you don’t own them – in this case, all the Resident Evil Survivors and Killers are unlocked for everyone.
You can invest Bloodpoints into them and equip any Add-ons you earn by doing so, with any Bloodweb progress you make on them being saved for future use once you’ve purchased the character.
Bonus: Daily Login Rewards
In addition to 2v8, there is another incentive to log in during this Event: free Bloodpoints. Logging in every day of the event will net you a total of 800,000 Bloodpoints, with a few Rift Fragments thrown in there for good measure.
