Fans had the chance to sign up for FromSoftware’s next game last year following its announcement at The Game Awards 2024, with those lucky enough to get an invitation being given access to Nightreign starting on February 14. While key points of the game are still a mystery, fans are likely to receive a plethora of new details as playtests for Elden Ring Nightreign officially start.
Despite past releases in FromSoftware’s unofficial Soulsborne series using the same basic gameplay principles, each game has managed to feel unique, which is something that looks to hold true for Elden Ring Nightreign. Announced during 2024’s The Game Awards presentation, Nightreign came as a huge surprise, both for hardcore fans of FromSoftware’s work as well as newcomers alike. While the original Elden Ring was released nearly three years ago, the hype for the title had barely settled thanks to the release of the game’s incredibly successful DLC expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, with all eyes now on Nightreign as playtests officially begin.

GameSpot has confirmed that the first invitations to Elden Ring Nightreign‘s playtest are being sent out. The closed beta will feature five different sessions lasting from February 14 through February 16, 2025. While this may seem like a short amount of time, players are likely to uncover all kinds of secrets and details about Nightreign that have remained a mystery up until now. In addition, publisher Bandai Namco has confirmed the exact dates and times for the playlist, ensuring players know exactly when they can hop into Nightreign.

- Session 2 (February 14): 7 to 10 PM PT / 10 PM to 1 AM ET

While Elden Ring Nightreign is coming to Xbox and PlayStation consoles as well as PC, the playtest will only be available on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
