Baldur’s Gate 3 custom campaigns are an absolute game-changer. With Larian’s official support tools, dedicated players are already making and releasing a multitude of creations that act like mini-DLC for us to play. Original locales, quests, items, storylines, and more come together to completely revamp the BG3 experience, and today’s mod is no different. If you love the life of glitz and glamor and want to take to the stage in the world of Dungeons and Dragons, this latest project is one you need to try for yourself.
Created by ‘Moezilla,’ ‘The Grand Theater’ is a new Baldur’s Gate 3 mod that acts as an entire custom campaign. It has a whole new area tucked away inside the titular city, thousands of new dialogue lines, original quests, and extra reward items for you to find. The RPG’s mod isn’t quite finished yet, but what Moezilla has made so far looks incredibly promising.
The mod brings the Forgotten Realms organization known as the Red Wizards of Thay to the forefront. Having just opened The Grand Theater for business, if you’re looking for more amusement and debauchery in Baldur’s Gate 3, this is where you’ll find it.
The Red Wizards have their own reasons for launching The Grand Theater, however, so while it might look nice there’s something more going on behind the curtain. You can expect bright lights, alluring music, and all manner of entertainment around every corner.
As for the mod’s future, Moezilla has a handful of updates planned. We can expect waypoint travel, more cutscenes, a full outside area, several combat scenarios, even more unique items, skill checks, and a major event centering around the Lute and Devil (owing to the mod’s subtitle). Moezilla also recommends you beat BG3 at least once to make sure you’ve encountered the base game NPCs.
To start the mod you need to find one of three lutes hidden throughout Baldur’s Gate 3. You can easily start the custom campaign right at the beginning of a save, but Moezilla recommends you do so in Act 3 – likely because this is when the party gets to Baldur’s Gate naturally in the story.
Moezilla’s The Grand Theater custom campaign is available in version 1.0 right now, with more on the way. You can download it right here.
