Trev Broudy’s Captain America performance feels like an homage to classic superhero serials and radio shows. He always speaks as if he has his hands on his hips ready to teach a PSA to kids and adults alike, and for the tone of Marvel Ultimate Alliance, it works. He feels like the Captain America that is plucked out of the 1940s.

Chris Evans was accompanied by multiple actors from the movie, including Hayley Atwell. Having done voice work for movies like TMNT and Battle For Terra, Evans did deliver a good Captain America performance. Even though he is a better screen actor than a voice actor, he helped make Captain America: Super Soldier the best of the poor series of MCU video games at that time.

Reflecting that new direction, David Kaye was the new voice of Captain America, giving a gruffer and intentionally tired performance that fits the story of Steve Rogers fighting the people he once considered friends.

Ultimate Alliance 2 is a game heavily inspired by comics, adapting the Civil War storyline long before the Marvel Cinematic Universe did it. As a result, Captain America is portrayed in two ways, which David Kaye executed effectively, as the game is split into two campaigns, one from his perspective and the other from Iron Man’s faction, showcasing the good and bad of both sides.

In terms of his voice acting career, David Hayter is most famous for his iconic portrayal of Solid Snake in the first four Metal Gear Solid games. Hayter has also had a long history of superhero projects, including writing the script of the original X-Men movie and when he lent his voice to the role of Captain America in multiple episodes of Spider-Man: The Animated Series.

The David Hayter version of Captain America is a serious yet noble portrayal, embodying the character’s selflessness and liberty. Notably, he was the first to appear in a Secret Wars adaptation, and his voice closely resembles that of Solid Snake, which is a bonus delight for Metal Gear Solid fans.

Similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe version, Justin Gross’ version of Captain America plays the fish out of water scenario with more pathos. He’s a man out of time, and he struggles with losing those he cared about and missing out on decades of history. At the same time, he is still a valiant leader of the Avengers and his more serious tone makes him feel more believable.

Marvel’s Avengers Did All The Characters Justice

Jeff Schine, an accomplished voice actor known for roles in games like Call Of Duty and Red Dead Redemption 2, voiced Captain America in Marvel’s Avengers. Despite the game’s controversies, the cast received praise, including Troy Baker as Bruce Banner, Nolan North as Iron Man, Laura Bailey as Black Widow, Sandra Saad as Ms. Marvel, and Travis Willingham as Thor.

Despite the least amount of screen time for story reasons, Jeff Schine’s Captain America was a highlight. He felt very grounded and subtle, but he was also powerful when he needed to feel like the leader of the Avengers. Given that the cast has worked together on other projects, it’s no surprise that Jeff Schine’s chemistry with the other heroes is a highlight, especially when most of the Avengers’ personal stories are based around Captain America’s sacrifice on A-Day.
