Of course, with all kinds of ingredients and items to discover in the expansive open world, you might wonder where to find Poppy and what else you can do with it in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Fortunately, Poppy is a relatively commonplace herb you can find early on, with some of the best early-game poppy farming locations not being far from the town of Troskowitz.
How To Get Poppy In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
One of the best places to find Poppies early on in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is in a small woodland area about halfway between Tachov and Troskowitz, as shown on the map above. Here, you can find Poppy growing in the wild in large groups on the ground, making it a great spot to farm Poppy early on in the game. It also seems to respawn pretty quickly in this location.
Of course, it’s fairly easy to spot Poppies when out and about because of their bright red petals, growing in most fields surrounding locations like Troskowitz.
The woods between Tachov and Troskowitz pictured above are also an ideal place to find Bird Nests and a nearby Roe hunting spot, as marked on the map above by the nest and deer markers. It’s also possible to find other wildflowers and ingredients in this area, like Nettle, Valerian, Dandelion, and Thistle.
Other early game locations where you can find Poppies growing in the wild include near the side of the road next to Blacksmith Radovan’s workshop in Tachov and the vegetable patch next to Apocherist Emmrich’s herb garden in Troskowitz. You can also find a large group of Poppies located south of Zhelejov. Once found, you can interact with Poppies to trigger a short cutscene of Henry harvesting them.
It’s also possible to buy Poppy from some Herb Sellers in Towns and Villages, such as from the Herbalist Aranka located in the Nomad’s Camp. Here, you can buy Poppy from Aranka for the small price of 0.1 Grochen. However, some Apothecaries don’t stock Poppy, such as Apothecary Emmerich on Troskowitz, so you may need to search more widely for vendors that stock it.
What Is Poppy For In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
Poppy is a necessary ingredient in crafting the following alchemy recipes in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 at an Alchemist’s Bench:
- Lullaby Potion – an essential potion for putting large animals to sleep, such as when painting the bull in the Mice side quest.
- Embrocation Potion – improves agility and can reduce stamina consumed when sprinting.
- Painkiller Brew – Reduces the effects of wounds, plus the amount of stamina decreases with health.
Indeed, the game describes Poppy as a powerful herb that is often used to help the sick and can put anyone to sleep. When boiled with the tooth of a wild bear, it is also said to help with hunting.
