Capcom confirms that PC players will get extra time with the Monster Hunter Wilds beta, after a PlayStation Network outage stopped PS5 owners from playing the game over the weekend. Even though everyone on Steam was unaffected by the console downtime, the final stint of the beta ahead of launch has been extended across all platforms for 24 hours, meaning you get even more time to try Wilds out before launch.

If you just can’t get enough of the Monster Hunter Wilds beta, you’ll have even more time to take it for a spin now. The second week of open beta test 2 has been extended to run for an extra day, giving both suffering PS5 players – and thankfully the rest of us – the opportunity to play more of the RPG ahead of time.

The second leg of this Monster Hunter Wilds test will now run from Thursday February 14 until Monday February 17, instead of ending on the Sunday as Capcom had originally planned. With 14 different Monster Hunter Wilds weapons to choose from, this extra time is the perfect excuse to try out a tool you might not have yet.

With performance improvements expected for the full game, you’ll want to make sure you test out the new benchmark tool to ensure your rig is up to the challenge. It’s also worth noting that this beta period doesn’t include Capcom’s promised weapon changes, although these will be implemented in time for launch.

This extra beta time is due to a PlayStation Network outage from the weekend. All online services, including the store and access to multiplayer games, were unavailable to PS5 players, thanks to what Sony calls an “operational issue.” To make up for this, every PS Plus subscriber is getting an extra five days of service at no extra cost, while there’s been no news on whether people without the service will be compensated.

While you wait we’ve got everything you need to know about the Monster Hunter Wilds release date, alongside a breakdown of all the Monster Hunter Wilds monsters.
