A new world record has been posted by content creator and YouTuber Summoning Salt, after defeating the final boss in Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! in under two minutes. Summoning Salt has amassed over 90,000 subscribers on YouTube, sharing oddball videos to the platform with content primarily focused on Punch-Out!! and setting the world record for the sports games. The creator has gained a loyal following during their Punch-Out!! journey and most were sad to see the grind come to an end.

First released in 1987, Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! debuted on the Nintendo Entertainment System as part of the self-titled series created by Genyo Takeda. The main series released five titles in the 80s and 90s, 1984’s Punch-Out!! and Super Punch-Out!!, 1987’s Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!, 1994’s Super Punch-Out!!, and 2009’s Punch-Out!! for the Wii U. Even though Punch-Out!! fans shouldn’t hold their breath for a new game announcement, the love that gamers have for this retro classic is undying, illustrated by fans still setting records in 2025.

Additionally, the creator noted that Mike Tyson’s fight requires stellar luck and execution to get right, and said their perfect punches, dodges, and ducks contributed to the win, alongside a crazy amount of luck between a 1/7,000 and 1/10,000 chance of occurring.
