Elon Musk Admits to Boosting His Path of Exile 2 Account

Tech billionaire and self-espoused gamer Elon Musk is admitting to boosting his Path of Exile 2 account after facing plenty of scrutiny.

In early February 2025, GGG shared its latest “State of Early Access” report on its official forums, outlining several high-priority Path of Exile 2 issues that it plans to address in the near future. The list includes four items, starting with balancing problems concerning individual skills and overall builds. While the studio didn’t go into many details on the matter, it confirmed plans to implement both buffs and nerfs as part of its upcoming balancing efforts.

Current Path of Exile 2 Development Priorities

  • Major balance overhaul for player skills and builds
  • Expanding build diversity
  • Endgame progression balancing
  • More “cool” endgame rewards

The developer also revealed that it’s not satisfied with the current state of the Path of Exile 2 build variety. As a result, it’s planning to keep refining the game with the goal of making a greater assortment of character builds viable. One way in which it hopes to achieve that is by creating more “build-defining” unique items.

The Path of Exile 2 endgame is another item on the developer’s high-priority agenda. GGG acknowledged that the current endgame progression feels “off” and that it’s working on rebalancing it. Some vocal players have previously complained about the endgame having extremely harsh difficulty scaling and cheap one-death mechanics that take away from their enjoyment of the game. Map and boss design have also incurred some fan criticism, as did Waystone drop rates. The ongoing influx of complaints is largely rooted in a perception that the endgame grind is too slow. Although GGG didn’t share much about how it intends to alleviate these issues, the studio mentioned adding more “cool” endgame rewards as one possible solution.

More Path of Exile 2 Performance Improvements Are Coming

Aside from gameplay changes, GGG is also continuing its work on improving the game’s performance. Regarding the PC version of Path of Exile 2, the developer recently deployed a workaround for an issue that would cause full-fledged system freezes on Windows 11. The root cause of this bug is still unclear, but GGG is presently in discussions with Microsoft over how to approach developing a more permanent fix. Likewise, the studio is currently working with Nvidia on resolving what remains of the game’s driver-related crashes. Many of these newly shared changes are planned to roll out as part of the next Path of Exile 2 update, identified by version number 0.2.0.
