As players move throughout Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, they will notice little nest icons on their map and a message saying they’ve discovered a nest. However, there isn’t much information for players beyond that.

Nests can be a solid and common resource if players loot them, but getting them down can pose a slight challenge. This guide has everything players need to know about nests in KCD2, including how to access them and what they should do once they find one.

What To Do With Nests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Nest Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Players will spend a lot of time walking around in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and as they do, they uncover more of the map and find key locations and items. A recurring object is bird nests, spotted in towns and forests. Every time players are near one, it will appear on their map as a nest icon with eggs, so they can always return to it if they are in a hurry and can’t investigate right at that moment.

Although they appear on the map almost everywhere Henry travels, nests can be hard to spot in the world. This is because they are hidden high up in the trees for safety. If Mutt is with Henry, he will bark and notify him of any nests he finds while they walk around. Once players find a nest, their next goal should be to knock it down so they can loot it.

Nest Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

While players can use a bow and arrow to knock a nest down, it wastes arrows, and pulling out a weapon is a quick way to get in trouble, depending on whether Henry is in a city and around other people or not. So, the best and safest way to knock down nests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is to throw a stone at them. Henry can throw stones while he is crouched; unlike arrows, stones are a free and endless resource. Aim the cursor at the nest and have Henry throw a stone. If he hits it, the nest will fall to the ground and can be searched.

Be mindful of where it lands because it will roll or bounce away if the ground is uneven.

Nests typically contain useful items, including:

Birds also like to collect shiny items, so there may be other valuables like badges, jewelry, and spectacles. Players may also find crafting materials and herbs to brew with if they are lucky.

Because they almost always have Eggs in them, nests provide Henry with food if he gets hungry or hurt, and players need a fast solution. However, Eggs spoil quickly, so be wary of not accidentally eating spoiled food and giving Henry Food Poisoning. Players can also make a quick buck by selling the items they find in nests, especially jewelry, which can be rather valuable if sold to the right person.
