Final Fantasy 14 Announces Collaboration with Instax Camera Brand

  • Final Fantasy 14 is collaborating with Fujifilm’s Instax brand of cameras and mini-printers.
  • A new ‘instant camera’ emote will be available in Final Fantasy 14 starting in Patch 7.18 on February 25.
  • A Twitter screenshot campaign will give 10,000 lucky players a new cosmetic prize as part of the collaboration.
  • The Twitter campaign will end shortly before the launch of Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.2, Seekers of Eternity.

Square Enix stated there would be no prerequisites to acquire the instant camera emote, though it remains to be seen how easy it will be to obtain. In past Final Fantasy 14 collaborations with companies such as Gong cha and Grubhub, Square Enix required players to make an actual food purchase to get their cosmetic prize code printed on the receipt. After several player complaints, Square Enix released the Eat Pizza emote from the Grubhub campaign on the Final Fantasy 14 Online Store for $7.

The end of the Instax campaign will coincide with the approximate launch of Patch 7.2, which is scheduled to go live in late March. Only time will tell how smoothly the Final Fantasy 14 and Instax crossover will go, but those wanting to snap some fresh shots with their Free Company have something to look forward to.
