Filling a Battlefield-shaped hole and offering an intense extraction mode at the same time, Delta Force has been immensely popular on Steam since its open beta launch in December last year. FPS fans have been lapping up the free multiplayer content in their droves, but there’s also been a lot of hype for its single-player Black Hawk Down campaign, which will be a paid DLC. After being hit with a delay, we now know when the Delta Force Black Hawk Down campaign is arriving – and thankfully, it’s very soon.
Inspired by both Ridley Scott’s classic war movie and the action from 2003’s Delta Force Black Hawk Down game, Team Jade is aiming to create a super immersive campaign that can be played solo or co-op with other players. Game design director Ricky Liao told me at the end of last year that Black Hawk Down will tell a gripping and gritty story and will not be over-reliant on cinematics. While there will be cutscenes, Team Jade wants to tell as much of the story as possible through engaging gameplay moments.
Delta Force has already proved its worth as a great multiplayer FPS game thanks to, among other things, its solid visuals and great gunplay, so if it can marry those fundamentals up with a stellar narrative and create some memorable moments, we could be looking at an absolute banger of a campaign here.
Those who buy and play Black Hawk Down will also be able to earn exclusive cosmetic rewards that can be used in multiplayer modes too.

While the Black Hawk Down campaign was initially meant to drop some time in January, Team Jade said that it needed “a bit more time for final polishing and optimization,” pushing it back to some time in Season 2. Now, the studio has locked in a firm launch date, and you won’t have long to wait.
The Delta Force Black Hawk Down campaign will be released on Thursday, February 20 at 6pm PST / 9pm EST and Friday, February 21 at 2am GMT / 3am CET.
Despite confirmation of the new release date, there’s unfortunately still no word on just how much the Black Hawk Down campaign DLC will cost.
