As a result, more mainstream titles have made a habit of incorporating co-op gameplay whenever possible, if not creating an entire title that hinges on it. The Xbox One is home to some of the best couch co-op games on the market for you and your partner to play and create great memories. Baldur’s Gate 3

Want to embark on a fantasy quest with your partner? Baldur’s Gate 3 will have you and your loved one traversing Faerun with a ragtag group of companions, fighting to save the city from certain doom.

You’ll face moral quandaries, epic battles, and hilarious scenarios together. While this game can be played solo, it’s more fun when you have your partner to lean on. Just don’t get too mad when they inevitably make a decision that leads to disastrous results.

Crossplay is coming to Baldur’s Gate 3 in Patch 8! That means you can play on PC while your partner plays on console.

Just Dance

Want to dance together, but don’t feel like going out? You can play Just Dance from the comfort of your living room, and you don’t have to deal with weird stares if your moves aren’t up to par.

The game has duets, perfect for a stay-at-home date night. It will probably result in some laughter, because some of the moves are pretty silly.

It Takes Two

It Takes Two is an excellent co-op adventure that is the perfect game to play with a partner. The story of Cody and May as they settle their differences and regain their daughter’s trust makes for a great time. However, there are a few moments when things get hairy and might even make you question the nature of your relationship. But hey, if they can get past it, so can you.

The quality of the writing itself might not be excellent, but the gameplay more than makes up for it. It Takes Two is a step in the right direction, and we can’t wait to see what else Hazelight Studios has to offer.

This game mixes up different styles of gameplay, from racing to arcade shooter. There is something for every type of gamer!

Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley is a deep, rewarding, and neverending experience that has you build a farm, fall in love, start a family, and get up to unexpected mishaps. The cherry on top of this already excellent dessert is that you can experience this together with your significant other, allowing both of you to take care of the farm.

Not only is Stardew Valley one of the most relaxing games you can play, but it has a near-endless supply of content, allowing you to get lost in its world for hours on end without even realizing it. This is the perfect game for a couple who wants to build something together, maintain it, and explore the unknown.

Haven

The Game Bakers are known primarily for their work on Furi, so the fact that they also made Haven is pretty interesting. This title couldn’t be further away from the pulse-pounding gameplay of the previous title.

Instead, Haven is a relaxing game that takes a surprisingly human and engaging look at the lives of a couple that escapes to a planet that they’re trying to rejuvenate. The game might have the occasional misstep or two, but its heart is in the right place, and the addition of co-op gameplay means you can enjoy the story with your S.O.

Unravel Two

Unravel Two is a sequel that has adopted a co-op approach. As a result, two people can now solve puzzles and use their yarn to help clear obstacles, overcome challenges, and progress through the story.

There might not be much going for Unravel Two, but the core gameplay is decent enough. Couples might not have much to do in this title aside from the few optional challenges that can be downright frustrating to complete at times.

For those of you who are huge Halo fans, you can’t go wrong with The Master Chief Collection. It is one of the best co-op experiences and includes every Halo title up to Halo Reach. The game offers tons of different maps and missions to play through, and you can do it all in split-screen.

Halo is one of the most popular first-person shooter series of all time for a good reason. If you or your partner are new to the game, it also offers multiple difficulty levels, so you can start on more manageable levels before working your way up. A couple that finishes the fight together stays together.

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is a couch co-op adventure for up to four players. This love-themed action adventure is the perfect way to strengthen any relationship.

You and your companion will be tasked with piloting a circular spaceship through the galaxy, defending the universe against the evil entity, Anti-Love. To do so, you will need to work together to frantically man your ship’s shields, guns, and thrusters or risk being destroyed.

Spiritfarer is an adventure worth experiencing at least once and nails everything it sets out to do and then some, making it hard not to recommend.

Welcome to the world of Pandora. If guns, loot, and destruction (of others) are something you value in your relationship, then this game is perfect for you. The whacky, over-the-top nature of the Borderlands series is sure to keep some players engaged for long hours, with the hooks of its fundamentally intoxicating gameplay making you never want to put it down again.

Choose from older titles like Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, or newer ones, including Borderlands 3 and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. With all games available to be played entirely in split-screen, players will have countless hours of questing and exploring at their fingertips.

A Way Out

A Way Out is Hazelight’s first title. Set in the 1970s, this two-player adventure is designed entirely with co-op play in mind. You and your partner will take the roles of Vincent and Leo, two criminals with troubled pasts.

You must work together to escape prison using cooperative methods and simultaneous quick-time events. By the end of your adventure, both of you will be invested in Vince and Leo’s tragic tale, making this title a perfect choice for game night.

Diablo 3

A follow-up to the popular dungeon-crawling series, Diablo 3 brings Blizzard’s tried-and-true loot-grinding formula into the new age and to consoles for the first time in its storied history. Even if this genre isn’t typically your cup of tea, playing it alongside your companion will surely be enough to get you on the hook.

Up to four players can party up and explore crypts, caves, and temples together while slaying thousands of monsters. The desire to acquire better weapons and armor will have you constantly saying: “Just one more dungeon.” There are also 13 different Torment difficulty levels to test your skills.

Overcooked 1 & 2

On paper, Overcooked may sound mundane. You and up to four players manage a kitchen, preparing food orders and filling recipes. The truth, however, is that this frantic cooking game is far from ordinary. You will be running across various bizarre levels, trying to keep up with orders.

The wacky kitchens range from the back of a moving truck to a pirate ship. The game constantly throws curveballs at you as you try to keep the food from burning and customers happy. Within minutes, you and your partner will be shouting orders at each other, trying to keep everything from falling apart. Few co-op experiences are this exhilarating.
