Every business tycoon has to start somewhere, even if it’s the mailroom.

From practicing your speeches in the mirror to networking with neighbors and other Sims in clubs, you’ll need to stay on top of everything if you’re ever going to become Mayor. Below you’ll find everything you need to achieve your Sim’s professional dreams.

Politics Career Track

Any Sim looking to delve into a political career should be prepared for a long and arduous road. Not only will this career demand long hours, but you’ll need to spend most of your Sim’s free time schmoozing with strangers to make vital connections.

Additionally, you’ll need to find time to build your Charisma, Creativity, and Logic skills at the same time. It can be a lot to handle, but the payoff is worth the investment–even if it means your Sims neglect their family for a little while.

The Politics career track is broken up into full-time and part-time work. Below are the available positions and how to get promoted:

  • Adult Politics Career Track

Only Adult Sims are able to undertake the political career journey in full, accepting a full-time position from the get-go. Starting at the bottom is rough, with nine-hour shifts to begin with. Thankfully, you can move up quickly to reduce hours. The tradeoff is the skills you need. They’re difficult to build alone, and you can get to rank four without any of them. Nevertheless, don’t let your sim waste time. The path to the mayor’s office requires diligence!

There are ten available positions in this career, and the skills will quickly pile up.

Below are all the jobs adults can hold in politics:

  • Teen And Elder Politics Career Track

Aspiring teens and bored elder Sims can work in politics as well, though their options are limited. They can only work their way up to the position of intern, and the pay is significantly reduced. However, the skills they learn can help them in other areas of life. Using the newspaper or computer, they can apply for an opening and begin their political journey. Below are all the jobs teens and elders can hold in politics:

Teens must have grades of ‘C’ or higher before they can get a part-time job.

Politics Career Reward

Once your Sim reaches rank five in their political career, they can redeem the Enterprise Office Concepts Bushmaster Tele-Prompter from the career rewards menu. This unique podium allows Sims to practice delivering speeches much better than in a mirror.

Children can play with the podium as well as practice and receive lessons!

In addition to training your Sim’s charisma, the podium increases the fun motive. They can even ask others for lessons and teach members of their household public speaking skills. Have your Sim deliver their best work on the podium to prepare them for the real deal at work!
